Matt Barnes not planning to opt out

Post#1 » by Slava » Wed May 11, 2011 11:28 pm

Code: Select all

Barnes made clear w/o declaration that he will not opt out for next season. "I want to win. I still feel this is the best team in the NBA."

Unfortunate he got injured though because he looked really good when he was in rhythm and could have helped a lot in playing Barea and Stojakovic as well as hitting some 3s.

I welcome you back with open arms, Mr. Barnes. Spend this offseason getting rid of that hitch in your 3 point shot though.

Great news. He had that perfect 3pt night earlier in the season and just sort of fallen off since then. Assuming Shannon opts out what position would Barnes better fit SG or SF?

He's the perfect fit for this team... and at $2mil, he's a steal for that salary. He should continue to back Ron up at the SF position.

Hopefully Barnes gets healthy this offseason. I love his hustle and defensive toughness.

Perfect an expiring contract the team can use or a decent player. Either way it works.

This is great news ... one of the best value contracts in the league! I don't really like him at the 2 ... wonderful at the 3 though.

I concur. I don't care if people call him overrated, at 1.9 million next season, he's a bargain.

This is just Ding's interpretation of Barnes' exit interview... I agree with his assessment but it's not some inside source he has.

Barnes looked like he really likes being a Laker and would like to continue to be for the long haul.

Yep, great news. Hopefully he can stay healthy next year. He was rock solid until the knee injury.

Yep, he's definitely a great guy off the bench, or even to start in a pinch.

Nice Barnes. Now get that touch back, have that knee fully recovered and add more strength and you're good to go!

Just like everyone else, I'd be happy if we brought him back.

Kobe give him the "shooting bible" you gave Trev!
Thank you, Phil.

Don't mind him coming back for next season. Sucks that his injury this year seemed to have held him back to what he is capable of doing. Next year I'm sure he'll be back to form.
