Terrence Williams is a bad dude! I would take Terrence and Thabeet for Walton, Ebanks, Caracter and ALL of our #2's in a heartbeat.

Terrence is amazingly skilled, has triple double talent and can play lock-down D ... his problem is that he wants to score 25ppg and be the man ... sound familiar? Terrence, meet Ron Artest ... Ron, whip this dude into shape!

If it comes think the Bulls would throw more money at him. A back-up SG who can score off the bench would be great for LA, but I think getting a legit PG is our #1 goal.

What about Jeff Green? I don't think Boston is happy with the production he's given and they may not resign him.

Man we just need a legit PG. I love the thought of Odom for Felton.

I'm loving the 3 way deal proposed for New Orleans and Orlando ...

HOWEVER, I don't think New Orleans would do it simply because it would mean then have zero chance of winning a western finals for 5 years. And the NBA couldn't do it because of collusion--something they're fighting against in this off season lock out.

I feel like the targets for PGs are Calderon and Jennings--both I think are available for the right deal. Just not sure we have the right pieces to make it work--probably more so Calderon with his huge deal. I really wonder if Toronto hates his contract so much that they would trade for Blake (which I think works with the Sasha trade exemption). Hell, we could give them 2-3 second round picks from this year's draft.

As I look at the Lakers, I see their competition in up-coming years just look more and more athletic. Wh

How about Marvin Williams+Josh Smith for Ron Artest+Lamar Odom. The Hawks get two proven Finals contributors, while the Lakers take a chance on the two younger guys that have struggled really getting the game down. I think under Kobe, Williams and Smith can take their games to what they can be and with Bynum would form a formidable group. Then deal Gasol's ass for a PG like Raymond Felton+Mozgov+Affalo and a TPE for K-Mart. Then sign J.R. Smith.

PG- Felton, Blake
SG- Bryant, Smith
SF- Williams, Barnes
PF- Smith, K-Mart
C- Bynum, Mozgov

I say we should get Jonny Flynn and JR Smith and call it an offseason. We need speed and quickness and Flynn provides that. He is only 22 years old, plays good defense and can score. He struggled last year but was great his rookie season. I think he can rebound and will be a steal as he can be had for cheap. JR Smith provides the scoring ability, shooting, and athleticism we need from the bench. I don't believe we need to make drastic changes and believe can win with a few small changes. If things don't work out we can still make the trade for Dwight Howard. We should keep our three big rotation as that is our advantage over every single team. These two additions would put us back on top.

Flynn/Blake/Fisher
Kobe/Smith
Artest/Barnes
Gasol/Odom
Bynum

tlifeset wrote:Three Way Trade that I think is interesting ...

Lakers get: Dwight Howard and Jose Calderon
Magic get: Andrew Bynum, Jared Bayless, Lakers 2012 1st round pick
Raptors get: Blake, Bass and Walton

The WHY's:

Lakers are obvious, but by adding Jose Calderon you finally have a PG who can dominate the ball, make 3s and is Pau's country man--plus they can get used to playing together at this year's nationals.

Magic are going to push for Odom or Gasol, but the truth is that Bynum is about as good a player as they're going to get. I know the Magic are going to look to dump salary in this Howard trade so you might need someone to take on Hedo.

Raptors get to finally free themselves with the 3 years, 30 mill remaining on Calderon. Blake is a nice fill-in, Bass bolsters the front line with Ed Davis and Luke Walton is an expiring after next year.

I don't see the raptors accepting this trade since it robs them of both their pgs. Sorry if i'm trollin' I was just interested in what you guys were thinking about in terms of rebuilding.

LAL/SAC deal

Too much bad blood between these franchises? Perhaps. But Kings fans seem open to a deal like this.

Odom

FOR

Garcia/Projected #5 pick.

Why For LAL-Immediately address a concern with outside shooting by getting Garcia although he is technically filler in this deal. The projected lotto pick could go higher or lower, who knows? I'll assume it stays at 5 and we take Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight. Another concern (PG) addressed.

Why for SAC-Their nucleus is pretty much set and what they need now is a mix of veterans to help guide this young team along. Odom would do exactly that, providing a veteran locker room presence for these young guys. Any doubts about Odom's leadership abilities? Just look at that Summer Olympic team where he was a pivotal piece to them winning the gold.

Garcia isn't worth Odom and that pick is useless for us now when we are going all in.

I've got a new direction for the Lakers, keep everything intact ...

Attempt to sign Aaron Brooks (restricted Free Agent) to the full MLE.
(I think if Brooks had the choice he would sign as the starting PG for the Lakers, but the Suns may very well match ... maybe we throw them a couple 2nd rounders in a sign and trade?)

If you can sign Brooks as the new starting PG, bring aboard Rick Adelman who has coached Brooks and offers immediate veteran presence on our bench.

Once that falls into place, look to trade Steve Blake and Luke Walton for a bad contract type guy who's trapped in a bad situation but is still athletic and might be invigorated playing for the Lakers...
IDEA 1: Blake, Walton, 2nd round pick and Cash to DET for Rip Hamilton
IDEA 2: Blake, Walton, 2nd round pick and Cash to CAR for Stephen Jackson

WHY? The Lakers are a sleeping giant--it's my estimation that this team was actually built more for the showtime model than the methodical triangle offense ... think about it: they have the best shooter in Kobe and they have three 7 footers who can all run the floor, have great hands and great foot work. Brooks dominates the ball and makes the other players better.

NEW LOOK LAKERS:

Brooks / Fish
Kobe / Rip
Artest / Barnes
Gasol / Odom
Bynum / Bi-Annual Exemption player (Jeff Foster?)

I like that squad.

Atlanta fans seem willing to make a Horford-Hinrich for Gasol deal from what I've seen.

I think something like Gasol+Blake+Ebanks for Hinrich+Horford+Williams could go through. I'd like that deal from the Lakers' perspective because they'd only be a backup speedy PG and a backup SG away from being a complete team.

Raymond Felton-Lamar Odom is something being discussed as well. I would ask Denver for two things:

- To swap K-Mart as a S and T free agent signing for our TPE.
- To give the Lakers a TPE for Lamar Odom out of the Carmelo deal. That TPE would be worth 8.9m and would allow the Lakers to pursue a real back court option. Can anyone say Nick Young for our new TPE plus a couple of future 1sts?

PG- Felton, Blake
SG- Bryant, Young
SF- Artest, Barnes
PF- Gasol, K-Mart
C- Bynum, Mohammed (part of the MLE)

But this one's kinda sexy.

1st would've been better if LA gets to keep LO.

2nd one is kind of a dream IMO. PHX has no other options at guard. But a combo of Kobe and Rip or Even Capt. Jack is kinda appealing.

Only thing I don't agree with is that Adelman and Brooks had a falling out. It's interesting though.

As an alternate to mine listed above you could also include the TPE+Barnes for John Salmons+plus the Bucks lottery pick for Tyler Honeycutt.

Your bench would be Steve Blake-John Salmons-Honeycutt-K-Mart-Mohammed an excellent group.
