I'm kind of surprised that they we haven't started an official thread about this. To start off, here is my top-5 big board:

Irving
Williams
Kantor
Knight
Walker

Just for fun, here is my 6-9:

Biyombo
Leonard
Burks
Vesely

Assuming the Kings get #5, Irving, Williams & Kanter are off the table for obvious reasons. So, you have guys like Knight, Walker, Biyombo and Vesely on the table for the Kings. I think Brandon Knight is our guy. He reminds me of a more offensive-minded Jrue Holiday. In theory, he is an excellent fit for our guys. The kid can handle the ball, shoot, play off the ball, defend and create for himself and for others.

A guy like Biyombo can be considered if the Kings fail to retain Dalembert. You can say the same thing to Thornton, if the Kings fail to retain him, I can see the Kings draft another guard, maybe Burks?

Biyombo is interesting, but still, somewhat scary. Somebody that I think has a ton of potential is Tristan Thompson. If it were me gambling on a shotblocking PF type I'd probably go with him. He's a little raw but when you watch him play you can tell he has a shot at being special.

Thompson is okay. But if I want to go to the potential route, it's Biyombo. The dude seems like a hard worker and is already a physical beast @ 18 years old. Defensively, he is projected to be an all nba defense type of player. Offensively, he is only limited to off the ball play, offensive put packs, tip ins, dunks and garbage opportunities at this point. He isn't the type of player you can throw into the post and tell him to produce. He is too raw to do right now.

With that said, I could see Biyombo in the top-5 if there is a team that really likes him. He is already a lock at top-10.

iI'd definitely have Jimmer ahead of Leonard on a big board, in terms of BPA. shooting is becoming a scarce premium and I don't think I've seen as good a shooter out of college in years as Jimmer. i know hehas question marks, but so does everybody else. what you do know is the shooting and rebounding translate to the next level....I'd pick Jimmer before Leonard.

I think Biyombo is a safe pick in terms of having a roster space and role for him on the current roster. Jackson's likely gone and Whiteside is still a ? mark. So adding Biyombo as insurance is still necessary even if we retain Daly.

Thornton's ours. He's a RFA, we have plenty of cap space and noone's going to offer a maximum or near maximum level deal for his services(thus we'll match anything he's actually offered).

It's tough to rate this draft cause to me it's a two player draft in Kyrie and Williams and a lot of euros who I haven't really seen play so tough to rank. You have Knight, Walker and Burks who I'd rank in that order.

I think at that point, the Kings should have SOME indication of whether or not retaining Thornton/Dalembert is realistic. But yeah, you are right about that.

If we aren't able to resign Dalembert, then I think we need to go big. We need to find someone who can pair well with DeMarcus up front and I think the perfect player to fill this need would be Donatas Motiejunas. He's extremely skilled, and can pretty much do everything on the offensive end. His only problem is that he is average at best on defense and only time will tell how well he does in that area.

Problem is we probably won't know whether or not we can re-sign Sam until well after the draft.

Sam will find some winning teams that definitely want him, but he won't get the money or the offensive touches he wants in Miami or New York.

But we'll see.

He's interesting. The word coming out from some scouts on him talking about his work ethic and fire are somewhere bothersome however. I could totally see him becoming the next target of a DMC beat down! :wink:

There is potentially a really good fit in the draft, but unless he looks bustly in workouts he probably won't be where the Kings are although DE has him at around 8 these days, Enes Kanter. Would much rather have seen actually play at Kentucky, but they could be the most multi-skilled PF/C pairing the league has seen since Vlade/Webber. Much like Cousins in high school, when you watch some vids of Kanter you can tell he's got the skills.
