Well you should compere Diop and Biendris if they are both involved in the trade. So its
Diop 1.3 and 2.5 at 7 mil per year
Biendris 5 and 7 at 9 mil per year
Biendris deal has one more year on it but I can deal with that if we get Curry. We are trading a bad contract for a bad contract. And Thomas deal is long and big also so in my mind the money part of the deal is a wash. And we win the talent part.

Usually totally agree with you. HOWEVER, I would make an exception only in this case because Curry's involved. I think Curry is the best star we can hope to bring here. Chris Paul would be the other I'd do this for but he wants to pull a LeBron and play alongside other big dogs. If Beans with Curry is the cost of doing business (in soccer, clubs pay transfer fees, I think of it comparably) in this scenario then I'd do it.

^ Agreed. And, as mentioned earlier, the bite of Biedrin's contract would be mitigated by the fact that we would be unloading Diop's deal along with TT's. It would be a net financial win. There's nothing wrong with taking on an undesirable contract as long as you are sending more undesirable ones out to compensate.
GS would have to believe TT is on the cusp of breaking out and is more than just a bench player like our FO did before they traded a pick for him and signed him to that extension. I never bought into that talk. I'm not sure many FO's do anymore

Not at the cost of a 9th overall pick though - not even in a crappy draft.

^ I'm with you on the count Slam; earlier I said I would do the deal but only if it included the 19th pick instead of the 9.
Granted, this would probably force a stalemate because GS would essentially be swapping curry for TT, a year of savings from Biedrens contact (they'd still be paying diop in the meantime) and a non lotto pick in a weak draft
