Things you would like to see happen this offseason

Post#1 » by iamworthy » Fri May 13, 2011 2:18 am

1. Kobe lose about 10-15lbs, become wiry strong.
2. Gasol get rest and keep hitting the weights. Possibly go see THE DREAM to tighten up his post game
3. Bynum lose 15-20 pounds get that triple jump back. The ability to run the floor and get some easy baskets.
4. Artest lose 15lbs. Get faster on his feet. he can still be strong, but needs to be quicker on his toes
5. Barnes...get healthy, learn the offense a litter better and he's golden
6. Blake, learn the offense
7. Shannon brown opt out.
8. LO work out this summer. Focus on B-Ball

1. Rest
2. Try to move up in the draft by trading the 2nd rounders.

If the MLE isn't scrapped in free agency then Mitch should look to add some youth through free agency.

Look to trade Shannon Brown and get something in return.

Whoever becomes the new coach should convince Fisher to come off the bench. I believe its that time.

July 1st......Call Carl Landry offer MLE

Same date call Arron Brooks.....we need a speed guard period....offer BLE plus starting job.

Develop D.Ebanks and DC.....time to infuse some youth also.

The Vets will be OK...just gotta rest and workout.

Use the 4 (2nd) rounders wisely

ive stated aaron brooks before...he would be a key addition to the team, but i dont know how good he really is now after his injury.

1. get a point guard....ANY upgrade over derek fisher, starting caliber...someone who isnt afraid of contact and can make some good passes.

2. keep kobe, gasol, bynum, odom, and artest intact.

3. trade shannon brown and luke walton--shannon has some value, luke not so much

4. move matt barnes to the 2-guard to substitute for kobe.

5. try to get ariza back

6. rick adelman, jerry sloan, byron scott, or mayybeeee brian shaw

4 2nd round picks this draft, 4 more in the next 2. I would trade them all for a lotto pick to a team that wants foreign project players and depth for many years.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

1. Get rid of Shannon
2. Gradually take old man Fish off the starting line-up
3. Get Adelman
4. Get a scrappy Kyle Lowry type of PG
5. Get a Radmanovic/Frye type shooting big-man
6. Get a hustle all energy type big-man (I.E. Madsen, Turiaf type)

I think all of these should be pretty realistic

I also remember an article posted here saying Bynum would be working out with a boxing trainer in the off season. What an extremely excellent idea by Drew. His conditioning would improve, explosiveness, his knees might benefit from this also, this can make him less injury prone, and his killer instinct would be enhanced too. Physically and mentally this would be very beneficial for Drew, glad that his always looking to improve.

1. Kobe get all surgeries done (finger, knee, tongue whatever is hanging loose there).
2. Gasol to play for Spain and get that confidence back of playing in the post.
3. Bynum to get his conditioning back. Drop some weight, strengthen the lower base and be able to run on fast breaks.
4. LO to rest and get his mind and legs back in his control. Develop his 3 point shot better to push Pau/Drew for minutes.
5. Barnes, like someone already suggested, correct that shooting form.
6. Blake, work on the shot and spend time with Shaw if we plan to keep the triangle. Like stick to him all the time.
7. Artest, drop some weight, get quicker and be able to finish on the breaks. Work really really hard on lifting those 3pt% up.
8. Fisher, just rest and probably be prepared for a reduced role.
9. Ebanks to recover from surgery, work on the 3 point shot and work on quickness and may be be a spark plug offensively off the bench.
10. Caracter lose weight, develop that jumper and work on offensive rebounding.
11. Luke, don't get injured.
12. Shannon, opt out.

Please dear god NO Jimmer. All we need is the next Ammo.

In order of most importance.

1. Get a good defensive minded coach.
2. Get a true starting pg. (don't care how it gets done, and I don't care if we have to draft the best pg available.)
3. Kobe get rest and please come back next year a little bit healthier.
4. (get dwight, or cp3, or Devin Harris)

I don't think the lakers need a super star pg, how about just a guy like delonte west? He's a good all around pg who can hit the 3 and play some D. I think he's a free agent as well. If not our starter, then some punch of our bench. He also wouldn't come at a high price.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
