Clippers won't include the Minny pick in a trade for Iguodala.

Re: Get Iggy
At this point I think we could get Iggy for Kaman and Aminu. If we are not able to get Granger,Gallinari or Batum I would pull the trigger on that deal. He would be the point forward, while EJ and Mo will focus more on outside shooting. Iggy's 14-6-6-2 would be solid. Then next season, Clipps could draft a point guard or pure shooting SF or SG and use EJ as the PG on defense, since he is under sized anyway. If we get Iggy, we still should get better bench shooters then Bledsoe, Foye and Gomes though.

Re: Get Iggy
Iggy is not worth the Twolves 1st round pick
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Here's the article for those who haven't read it...

I like Iggy and I like him for us, but I don't think he's worth moving the Minnesota pick for either. His contract isn't the greatest and moving him for both Kaman and the Minnesota pick would be a dream come true for them (i.e. too much to give up for him).
Aside from being a point forward, it's his defense that I would really welcome. We'd have a couple of great wing defenders in Iggy and Gordon and DJ to anchor in the post. I could see us doing a lot of damage in transition. We don't need him to be the 1st or 2nd option, which he was for much of the past in Philly. We just need him to do the things that he does well and it would complement the rest of our line-up.
Inside the Sixers: Prepare to say goodbye to IguodalaAn answer to a straightforward question is simple, but Iguodala's answer to the question, "Do you want to play for the 76ers next year?" was anything but.
Here was his first attempt: "I expect to be back in the NBA," Iguodala said after the team's season-ending loss to the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs. "It's always been a dream of mine to play ball. This has been a great ride so far, not just with the Sixers, just playing basketball in general. I'm really looking forward to getting some rest this summer, just letting my body recuperate and get back to 100 percent, and I'm really looking forward to next year being my best year in the league."
Not his best with the Sixers, but his best in the league.Iguodala has not asked Sixers management for a trade, but the team will be looking to trade him this summer.Another trade that was discussed last season involved trading Iguodala to the Los Angeles Clippers for big man Chris Kaman.
Kaman has only one year remaining on his contract - $12.2 million for the 2011-12 season. He also would provide talent and experience in the low post, while relieving the franchise of a good chunk of the remaining millions on Iguodala's contract.

I agree with this one... I didn't think of Aminu + Kaman for Iggy,,,
Ithink they pull the trigger on that one

Re: Get Iggy
Iguodala is owed $45 million the next 3 years. That's around the kind of money he should be making over five years IMO. It would be exciting to get him but I'm skeptical and it's Kaman straight up or bust if anything.
There are so many options in free agency this year at SF (Chandler, Prince, Hill, Battier, Butler, Delfino) who can do similar things for a fraction of the price while Aminu continues to develop. Centers however don't come so easily, if anything Philly should be adding the incentive if they want Kaman.

I agree. Having Kaman back up DJ is a big luxury and if we could sign Chandler to a reasonable deal or Prince to a one year deal that'd better than dealing for Iggy.

Iggy does make a lot, but would be a great fit with the line-up that we'd be running with imo. We could do some damage with him in the line-up. Straight up would be fair imo. They'd be getting cap flexibility and a player that has good chemistryl with their starting PF. If they get Kaman to re-sign for a reasonable amount, then it could easily work out for them now and in the future.
If all we did was add Prince or somebody like that, I could be content heading into the season. Now, I would hope that we would still plan on packaging Kaman with some of our assets for a more long-term solution to join Griffin and Gordon in carrying this team in the future. Supposedly, we're not interested in a few of the fee-agents that us fans would like due to age or the organization's opinion of their fit (e.g. Battier, Prince & Chandler). So I honestly don't know what to expect come this summer. I can only hope for the best.

I have been thinking about this too. If we do trade Kaman, our strength in our big man depth turns into a glaring hole at the backup position. Is there any chance of an Iggy + Marreese Speights for Kaman + Aminu + Pick trade? Speights (at least in the playoffs) appeared underutilized, and maybe tradeable?
Just not that keen on Rhino and Ike being the first "bigs" off the bench.. Gone are the days of having 3+ seven footers on the squad (Rebraca, Kaman, N'Daiye, Mikki Moore, etc)

I wish we had a Zeljko Rebraca-type player coming off the bench for us now.

We need a Chris Kaman. It's a need for a need in my opinion for both teams. Philly would easily part with Mareese Speights in all of this if it meant getting an Aminu in return. I for one would do Iguodala for Kaman straight up. I might ask to swap first round draft picks if that would be possible. You guys would hold onto your Minny pick and get our 16th pick in return for your lotto pick? Just a thought. I'm not a GM so I don't know but fans opinions do matter to me.

We do not have our own first round pick this year.
We did trade it in that Baron Davis for Mo Williams deal back in February and can't trade that Minny pick either, before this years draft is over, or we're able to trade for/buy a 2011 first round pick.
Though, we could throw in Al-Farouq Aminu.
He's a pretty talented guy and will turn 21 in September.
He could either be part of your young core, or be used to trade for a lottery pick in this years draft, as he's probably worth at least a top 10 selection, looking at how weak the draft is and how much upside he still got.
So this is what could be done.
Kaman, Aminu
for
Iggy, Speights

Philly fan. Our board is split. Lots would do the Iggy & Speights for Kaman & Aminu trade. The problem is that the half that wouldn't do it thinks Kaman is either over-rated, injury prone, too old to be a core player etc. & worry about re-signing him after his contract expires. That is really why the Aminu incentive is needed. IMO Iggy is a perfect fit for your team. Also, re-signing Jordan & bringing in Iguodala would show Griffin that the management is serious.

Kaman's injuries have been frustrating for us fans, but they are primarily fluke injuries (stepping on cameras or other players' feet). It's not like he has a chronic knee or back injury that plagues him, he just needs to watch where he steps. The reason why many of us think that Kaman would help Philly is that him and Brand have a great relationship/chemistry on and off the court. They know each other's games and complement each other. Both likes the opposite block to work on. They can both work inside and are able to knock down mid-range shots. Kaman was more of a defensive player and rebounder when they played together here. Out of necessity, he had to pick up the offensive load here over the last few seasons.
I think that Philly would be able to re-sign him once he expires. As far as a Speights/Aminu both being included in the deal, I'd be totally fine with that.

Re: Get Iggy
Kaman's game has shifted over the last few years. During the earlier half of his career he was more rebounding / blocking oriented - Then started developing his jumpshot. Now Chris has become a little more Scoring minded .
Being a capable center , he provides scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. That's all great until he goes into his self-destruct mode and becomes a turn over machine. Or when he misses 50 games per season.
It just seems to be a roll of the dice. The benfits are there but with heavy perils.

Call me crazy, but trading for Iggy i dont think would be a great move right now. The biggest weaknesses on the team are PG and SF, and next years draft is very weak at the PG spot. With Minny's pick, i say we draft Michael Gilchrist or Harrison Barnes, and then focus all of our assets on a trade for a shooting/defending PG. Somebody like Raymond Felton would be great, or maybe even grab Kirk in next years off-season

Iggy fills the need for both those positions. And if u guys keep drafting youn players then you will never get better. It would just be the same thing the following year with a new cast of college players you want...
I think Iggy is perfect for your team. Him in that lineup would be an instant playoff team. Even in the west. And in two years he will still be in his prime while Blake and Gordan become superstars

I see what you are saying, but even using Iggy as the point-forward, there is still the need for that same type of PG to help keep the floor open cause Iggy is not a great shooter. I would actually consider taking a look at Tony Parker, nabbing him for a deal centered around Kaman, Bledsoe, next years lottery pick and Foye
