Jazz power forward Derrick Favors was named Wednesday to the NBA All-Rookie second team, receiving 18 points and one first-team recommendation in voting that was conducted by league coaches. Utah small forward Gordon Hayward received seven points but was not selected to either team.

Ed Davis got snubbed he had a much better rookie year than Favors.
LeBron James is the best player in the NBA.

He plays for the Raptors, where NBA goes to die.

Didn't Ed Davis miss a bunch of games at the start of the season due to injury?

Congrats to him, awesome to see him get some recognition.

Hayward should have made it over George...but then again...I'm really biased :)

It's a shame Gordon Hayward got so few minutes at the beginning of the season.

Both he and Hayward were playing well in the last few games, but top 10 picks really ought to be making these teams. I'm disappointed that Hayward didn't find his way onto the second team, and Favors should have been able to make the first team. Hopefully they start to play up to their draft spots in their sophomore years, they'll have a bigger role to fill with more minutes, so I'm optimistic they will.

^Lol first team? He shouldn't of made it on the 2nd team. Davis beat him in practically every statistical category.

Favors is the horse the Jazz franchise is tied to for the next half decade (if he busts) and longer if he flourishes.

Because that tells you exactly why he didn't get it.

Won 17 more games than Toronto in our worst year in a long time. Don't act like you don't know how bad Toronto is MR "tdot" rep. You probably thought Bosh was the best PF in the league in toronto too, right?

Ok, again I would like to ask....didn't Ed Davis miss a bunch of games with injury? That would explain his absence.

I thought Davis was going to be a PF, but, looking at him he looked very slight and short for a PF. His game seemed based on finesse as well. I wonder if these things hurt him. Favors on the other hand looks like a large PF with a power game.

Davis might have had better numbers, but, I think he's going to struggle if he can't make the transition to SF as he just doesn't look like he's big enough for PF to my eye.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Before you laugh, you need to read more carefully. I said "Favors should have been able to make the first team." This doesn't mean I think he earned a spot on it, it means the opposite: I'm disappointed in him for not earning his spot since he got beat by a lot of guys drafted below him.
