as the biggest and most annoying Boozer hater on the board, I give him credit for last night. Not just the scoring, but he was....just......active. Effort. Intensity on the defensive end. Boxing out. While the scoring is great, it was the other things I had the problem with all year..
One thing though not to get too excited about, most of his shots were jumpers. We really need him to score in the post. That part of his game is clearly still lacking. If we want to beat Miami, we'll need him to be a presence inside...maybe get some people in foul trouble, demand Wade and James to sag in the lane to open the floor up for D Rose and the shooters.
Whatever the case, I was very encouraged by his performance last night. Now lets keep it going please.

My view is that is asking him to do what he's not good at. At least, not now. I'd rather have Thibs and the Bulls focus on what players do well. If Booz can get 4 buckets per game scoring inside on defensive breakdowns and putbacks and the occasional pick-and-roll, and another 6 buckets on 16 foot jumpers, that's 20 points before free throws. Works for me.

Re: Boozer does not compete
I wonder what Spolestra will do now that he has Haslem back. I would bet the move should be to start Anthony and bring Haslem off the bench, in which case I would imagine that you want Anthony/Haslem on Boozer and Bosh on Noah. The key to this series will be exploiting Chris Bosh. Either Noah has to pound the offensive glass against him or Boozer has to abuse the 1-1 defense. The Bulls won't get many victories if they don't start getting more production AT THE SAME TIME from Boozer and Noah.
A great game from Boozer last night shooting the mid range jumper. He used it as a spot up, used it as a fadeaway in the post and was dangerous with it. I wanted him to be a little more aggressive in the paint but he kind of seemed like a shooter that gets hot and so he lived with that all game. And his defense in the 3rd quarter by the way, was the best BY FAR I've seen him play since donning a Bulls jersey. Was active, helped great off of Collins, was there on every screen and even once refused to run at Josh Smith and instead gave him a three that he then airballed.

Noah is now worrying me more than Booz. To me, Booz has looked like he knows what he wants to do offensively, he just has struggled mightily because the athleticism hasn't been there. The injuries made him into a guy who turned old overnight. But you could see him trying to adjust to the new reality. The recognition was there.
But Noah ... he looks lost. Omer has a game plan, yeah he's limited but he's executing very well on what he does. What is Noah trying to do?

There is a huge drop off from Al Horford to Joel Anthony. Just saying. He'll be fine.

Boozer does pretty well for a guy with turf toe and 2 torn tendons in his foot.

Bulls trainers shot him up with the good stuff last night.
