Travis Snider vs Brett Wallace

Post#1 » by Evermore » Tue May 10, 2011 6:08 am

Snider is 23...and a former 1st round pick

Wallace is 24...and a former 1st round pick

Both are thick, left handed power hitters...

Which one do you think will have a better career?

Who has more upside?

Etc, etc...

Snider. He is quicker and more athletic, which will keep him in the OF and allow him to swipe bags, while Wallace is so thick he may struggled to move at first. But if Snider never learns to identify and hit a breaking ball, that athleticism is a moot point.

Yes and no...

He was expected to develop into a power hitter when he was drafted...

Much like Snider...

I like Wallace. He can flat out hit. Snider has come up and faltered a number of times now, albeit he has had to deal with a few injuries. Wallace went into spring training, won the starting 1B job and hasn't looked back hitting over .330 and an almost .400 OBP.
