Why not target Fredette?

Post#1 » by thegamefritz » Fri May 13, 2011 2:35 pm

We need badly a pur shooter than can spread the floor and hit 3's

I guess we can get Jimmer Fredette with our 2nd rounders plus Shannon Brown and or Steve Blake!

then sign a PG for MLE..

Shannon Brown is almost worthless on the trade market as he basically has no contract and would have to agree to an S&T which he doesn't need to do as an unrestricted FA ... Jimmer is going to go somewhere between 13-20 so our 2nd rounders wouldn't get it done ... our best bet would be the Wizards trade that lands us the #4 and #18 ... BUT ... if you want Jimmer at the #18 than who in the world do we take with the #4? I'd much rather have a Kemba Walker at #4 and whatever is left at #18 such as Noguiera, one of the Morris twins, Ken Faried, etc ... but if we get Jimmer at #18, there is no one at #4 that is really worth that high pick ... to bad Barnes, Henson, Zeller, Terrence Jones, Sullinger, Perry Jones, etc, didn't enter this draft, it would have much, much deeper.

Jimmer doesn't really solve our biggest problem - the need for a PG. He's a great player and all, but honestly, I don't view him as much more than a slightly more athletic JJ Redick, and I think if he goes anywhere higher than the end of the first, it's going to be a reach. He's an undersized SG that I think is going to have a lot of problems creating for himself at the NBA level, largely due to his lack of height at that position. He's a great shooter and a pretty good ball handler, I will give him that, but he's not a PG, which is what the Lakers need.

He's not going anywhere near the second round. Our best bet for a PG in the draft is Cory Joseph from Texas imo, got s more immediate contribution go with Shelvin Mack. No one ever reads my draft thread though :(.

We need someone who is quick/athletic and can play defense - Can he do this? No.

Fredette isn't going to be good man he's going to be Adam Morrison 2.0.

I'll take Corey Joseph any day of the week ... kid can really ball and has a ton of potential ... I also love his canadian teammate Tristan.
