Sixers beat writer said in her live chat today that we might target Enes Kanter in a trade up into the top 5 on draft day.

Actually makes a lot of sense for all the teams, except Speights to Washington. Don't they have basically the same guy in ANDRE BLATCHE FOOL!! Iguodala would be great in Indiana, Granger to often has to create his own shot.
Also, how the heII did Posey get that contract, he was never anything more then a role player.

Yup, I'd like Bismack Biyombo better than Enes Kanter, for two reasons.

1.) Cheaper price to pay (projected at a lower pick)
2.) Better defensive presence and more upside.

And BTW, It's the clipps that rejected the proposed Iggy for Kaman deal during the season.

Nene and Darko are the top guys FOR ME on that list.

Hayes - Can't finish. Although he does have terrific form from the line...
Okafor - Contract is a no no.
Biedins - If he was what he was yes, but he isn't what he was so no....
Gortat - I don't know about, he embarrassed us in the playoffs a few years ago. He excelled with Nash but we are a TERRIBLE pick and roll team.

Posey was on a contract year when he played his "role" very well into a ring. Hence the contract.

Anyway, I don't mind the deal, though I really don't like taking on Jones' extra years. He has a player option for the '12-'13 season, which is a year I'd really like to have cap space.

Why that is literally perfect for them, Aminu is never going to do anything. And they clearly are in love with the Jordan Griffin combo.

Seriously if I were a Clips fan I would love that trade.
Williams
Gordon
Iguodala
Griffin
Jordan

Sooooo much potential save Williams.

He went to New Orleans? Or at least I think... Terrible signing. IMO. Role players are invaluable, but the last thing you want to do is overpay them.

So I thought that was really only a speculated rumor that the trade was even a possiblilty? What's the source that says Clips were the one who turned it down?

She said that we're interested in trading Iggy for a top 5 pick. The trade with Indiana and Washington is something I designed, but she also said Kanter is someone we might/should target.

If I'm not mistaken, Kate Fagan mentioned it during her recent live chat.

Iguodala + Turner+ Lou for Bynum + Artest

Sign JR Smith

Bynum
Brand
Artest
Meeks
Jrue

Thad
JR Smith

The Sixers should have max salary cap max in the summer of 2013

So you take a very mentally sound (and talented) roster, and add two (possibly 3) major head cases?? Only if Iverson were the GM wold you see this move.

Artest and JR Smith have played major parts on winning teams. Their W/L record is certainly better than Lou, Iggy, and Turner... Or we can keep Iguodala and see him lead the Sixers to something like his 4th 1st round exit. I know this can't be about trading Evan Turner...

Not about Iguodala or ET (trade them if you improve the team), but more about bringing back Artest and JR Smith. Those are players you can add if you have a high end veteran team to help keep them in line (even then adding both is really questionable) but you never add them to a young/high character core...if we can add them from the neck down, then it is understandable, but we haven't developed the ability to split the head from the body at this point.

NBA veterans needed to keep fellow NBA veterans in line? In this era that's a complete myth. "High end" NBA veterans aren't the ones paying the salaries or giving out playing time. You fully admit that there still remains a youthful high character core, good, so we can throw them being negatively influenced out the window. Now we move on to the leadership, does Doug Collins know how to communicate and garner respect from the players? Yes. I see no more potential for JR Smith and Artest to be as a 6er anything other than what they have been on the court the last 3 seasons. That would be winners and clutch performers in the playoffs.

I fully admit I don't have a problem with Bynum and Artest bullying little JJ who was torching the Lakers guards and Pau Gasol in the pick and roll. Fortunately Jrue and Brand are much better defenders.
