Would a Large TE from Orlando be enough with a future pick

Knicks fan here

I offer you the 17th pick in the 2011 draft and your choice of either Landry Fields or Toney Douglas for OJ Mayo. I may even be desperate enough to throw in all three for Mayo.

The Knicks offer is the most appealling, but Donnie Walsh is one of the old wise lions in the business so it's unlikely he would do that deal, but a haul like that would be hard for any other team to match given the dollars involved. Very good proposal. The Grizz would accept.

Knicks can't trade their 1st round draft pick this year b/c they traded their 2012 1st rounder to Houston. ("Ted Stepien Rule.")

Unless maybe they buy a 1st rounder this year (2011 or 2012) from someone else.

If we really need to get rid, I would do a Mayo + Ish for Fields + whatever pick land us an international big in this draft (Nogueira, Byombo, etc)

They could also just draft the #17 player that the Grizzlies want, and then trade that players and Fields or Douglas

Do you guys think the Grizz go after the Pacers 15th pick for Mayo?

Also there has been some talk at pacersdigest.com Granger for Gay? What do you guys think.

Raptors fan here. Congrats on all of the success you've been seeing. Well-deserved.

Gasol seems like a integral part of your system and I'm sure you would all like to retain him. However with an extension being given to Z-Bo, I don't think there will be enough money to do so.

To MEMPHIS: Kleiza, TOR 2011 1st pick
To INDIANA: Bargnani
To TORONTO: Gay, INDY 2012 1st pick

You guys get the room to re-sign Gasol and a top 5 pick, Indiana gets more scoring from Bargnani and we get Gay and a low pick from a contending Indiana. What do you guys think? Is Gay even available? Too much or too little?

Gay is pretty damn close to unavailable; Heisley will go into the lux and has already paid 4/5 of the Grizz starting lineup. It's pretty clear that we need some scoring and shooting from the outside (to compliment our inside play) and that's exactly what Rudy gives us.
Before the injury he had an excellent season. If he were healthy this team is a legitimate title contender. I don't see anyone going anywhere unless we see a complete meltdown from the squad next year.

I can tell you right now that Bird wouldn't want Bargnani. Bird does want Mayo really bad which sort sucks because his value is increasing each palyoff game.

I think the Griz should really keep Mayo, he is developing and maturing and he could play more of a Harden type role (sorry not to rub it in). You guys are playing great, just the Thunder have their full team and have played together longer. Back on point Harden can even bring the ball up in certain situations, having Mayo study things almost like a PG does would make him invaluable. Plus Conley is valuable only in spurts cuz his game will never be complete.

I think in Battier and Tony Allen you have some very valuable trade chips. Mayo is more valuable to you than you can get for him in a trade anyways.

Conley/Mayo
Gay/Mayo
Battier
Zbo/Hustle PF
Gasol

trade Allen or Battier (whom ever you guys prefer) for a guy like Carl Landry or Nick Collison. Upgrading Arthur would be awesome.

Obviously with Gay back next year, having Battier, Mayo, Allen, and Young, that's too many wing players.

How's about a deal like Iguodala for Mayo and someone?

we would trade mayo to lower salary not to increase it.
the word is that mayo is going to be traded to make money for resign Gasol. Battier is a free agent.

Joe Johnson is priced only $3 million over Gay's deal. How about a swap? We'd take an additional bad contract you'd like to get rid of. You can name the contract. We could add Kirk Hinrich's $8 million expiring contract if you really want to cut salary.

I think the offer helps both teams - yours more than the Hawks, actually. Joe's a great outside shooter, a terrific defender and, at 29, will be in his prime for the duration of your own playoff run, which is right now.

I was thinking about this the entire time I was watching the series, would Memphis be interested in dealing for Steve Nash? I think Conley’s a great PG but I think this last series would’ve gone differently if they had Nash running the offense and Memphis has enough defenders to mask/alleviate Nash’s defensive shortcomings… he’s coming off another great year stats wise and I think he can carry on at this level for another 2 years.

Sure! Conley and OJ for a Nash 1 year rental. :D
Seriously though, I would be torn on a deal like this; I know there are plenty of Memphis fans who wouldn't do this (because Conley's impact on the team's offense is understated statistically and he's still very young). But hey, I think Nash could be good enough to put Memphis into the finals.

I was advocating a deal like this at the deadline. I love Mayo, but this would be a steal for Memphis. I'm just not sure if we would be able to take on Iggy's salary and still be able to keep Marc and Arthur. If Heisley is willing to pay the monumental price that it would take to make a deal like this, Memphis would be all over it.
