I think if Battier signs for the minimum they can retain Gasol, but I'm not sure. Either way... even if they couldn't, I think you let Battier go to retain Gasol.

The play of the Grizz proved they won't be needing the services of Rudy Gay any longer.

They'll simply try to unload him for picks/expirings/fillers and just max-out Gasol, Battier, and Z-Bo.

They have nice role players (or stars if u wanna call it that) to go alongside those 3 guys in OJ, Allen, Conley, Vasquez, and Young.

Grizz are going to be deadly next year.

We could probably do a Pietrus, Childress, 13th Pick, future first for Rudy Gay. Suns still need a PF, not necessarily a SG anymore if we use Dudley there since Gay can create his own shot. Suns don't have much to offer except a couple of picks.
If Philly unloads Iggy for an expiring and a decent PF or if they draft a PF, the Suns could trade VC for Brand straight up. Sign Anthony Parker to strengthen our perimeter defense.

Lopez + #13 for Rubio's rights. I doubt he'll ever suit up for Minnesota and i think they take Irving with #1.

Is there a realistic way in which we can trade for Josh Smith without giving up Nash, Dudley or Gortat and not taking on Joe Johnson's contract?

Maybe something like Lopez + Pietrus, and AB for J-Smoove?

Smith is perfect for our team. He's crazy athletic plus has great hands so he can run pick & roll with Nash no problem. He can also knock down the 15-20 ft jumpshot ona pretty consistent basis. He's a good defender and shot blocker. Also a decent rebounder.

I have heard Atlanta might trade him because they have too much money put into him, Johnson and Horford. Since no one wants Johnson and they value Horford very highly, trading Smith may be the only option.

I think people have to understand that Lopez right now has very little trade value and would be more like a glorified throw-in than an actual asset. Lopez/MP/AB won't get us Smith. While there is probably reason to think they would move Smith, I highly doubt we have what it takes to get him here.
