Bargnani is not the C they are looking for because they have Kevin Love, but Bargnani has good trade value and shouldn't be sold short. His skillset would work on several teams that lack frontcourt offence, they just have to pair him with a defensive oriented help defender. Watching OKC struggle last night to score, I thought the combination of Perkins, Collison and Ibaka - any two of those three on the court at the same time - is part of the reason teams are able to blanket their perimetre guys. If they could send in a scoring big like Bargnani, even as a sixth man type, they'd be able to open up more room for their perimeter scorers.

It got me thinking that maybe OKC would be a good trading partner. I wasn't able to get a straight trade so I had to use the TPE in two separate trades:
Trade #1
To Toronto
Nate Robinson (1 year, 4.5 million) - TPE
Cole Aldrich ($2.2 million next year - options up until 2015) - TPE
Royal Ivey (1 year, 1.2 million) or BJ Mullins (pretty much the same). - TPE

Trade #2
To OKC
Bargs for cap space

Reason for Toronto - get a young C who could grow with the team. Shed salary. Ivey can be a 3rd PG (or cut) and Robinson could be used as an expiring.
Reason for OKC - Get some offense in the front court.

Mind you - Raps are giving up on a former #1 AND have to give away most of Bosh's TPE - but it is an opportunity to start fresh with a young asset in Aldrich.

Well Dagger was quick to blow off Bargnani for JJ Redick + Ryan Anderson so I dunno about that one. Apparently Bargnani should net us a starter.

^^What's so hot about JJ Redick and Ryan Anderson? I'd rather a package centered around Aldrich. Even if it does include Nate.

I might be crazy to ask this but I wonder if OKC would trade Perkins for Bargnani. I know, it sounds stupid but they need a scoring big and we need a defensive Centre. They'd still have Ibaka to play at Centre who compliments Bargnani perfectly.

LOL!

Sorry but there is NO WAY they trade Perk when they've been looking for a true defensive C for years and just signed him to an extension after a trade where almost every analyst said they won.

I won't do trade one, but you never know about Minny...and I won't do trade two, Bayless and Amir for Gali?

I love this trade as I think Udrih is solid and Whiteside has a lot of potential...but I think Kings want to at least try a year or two to pair Whiteside and Counsins together.

why would Denver want Jose when they have Lawson and Felton both on better contracts, and in need of playing time? And we're in a position where we generally need to hold onto our picks, not use them to dump salary.

** All assuming we draft Derrick Williams somehow, someway we get lucky

To TOR: Flynn + Pekovic + Armon Johnson
To POR: Ridnour
To MIN: Fernandez + Calderon

* Could also add a Tolliver to POR via their TE (Bayless trade) if POR wanted

Raps get younger at PG

MIN gets 2 spanish teammates to ease Rubio into the NBA. Rudy gets more minutes there too

POR gets a backup PG for Miller whos a great fit with Roy with his outside shooting.

then:

To TOR: Lee + Thabeet + Carroll
To HOU: Barbosa + Alabi + TOR 2012 2nd Round Pick + CHA 2012 2nd Round Pick
To CHA: Klezia

Raptors get younger and fix their 3 point shooting problems also save 5.2 million in the deal overall.

Houston gets a couple 2nds, increased production in Barbosa from Lee (scoring wise) and still get a young C in Alabi.

Cats fill a need by getting a SF in Klezia over Carroll and only pay a 2nd to upgrade

or if HOU doesnt do that (they apparently value Lee very highly)

To TOR: Thabeet + Lee
To HOU: Kaman + Alabi + Foye (absorbed via TE)
To LAC: Barbosa + Miller + 4.6 million TE created

LAC saves money to re-up Jordan while getting a serviceable backup in Miller. Get increased scoring in Barbosa too.

HOU gets a C finally that can play with Scola and Foye gives them Lee production

Raptors improve 3 point shooting and take a chance on a big in Thabeet.

then (i cant think of any other Klezia deal)

To TOR: Carroll + CHA 2012 2nd Round Pick
To CHA: Klezia

just gives us an extra 2nd in 2012 so we can hopefully combine them and move into the late 1st round.

Final Roster:

Jerry Bayless / Jonny Flynn / Armon Johnson
Demar Derozan / Courtney Lee / Matt Carroll
Derrick Williams / James Johnson
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson / Joey Dorsey (re-signed)
Andrea Bargnani / Nikolia Pekovic / Hasheem Thabeet

i think its better defensively, better 3 point shooting and you take chances on a guy like Thabeet over Alabi but both have shown nothing. Not a huge addition or loss the idea would be getting a guy like Lee. You have young players everywhere, you keep Andrea hoping that this roster can accomodate him more (which i think it can) and allow him to score. You get the toughness Reggie brings in Pekovic except hes taller but is just as rugged, rebounds and has better offensive skills. I really love the overall look of that team. Bring back Dorsey because hes shown he can fill in for injuries when needed.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline

Sham has him at 2.1 million next year

Rudy Fernandez $2,180,443
Armon Johnson $788,872
= 2,969,315 X 1.25 + 100,000
= 3,811,643

for

Luke Ridnour $3,680,00

Miller / Ridnour / Mills
Roy / Matthews / Williams
Wallace / Batum / Babbitt
Aldridge / Faried (#21) / 2nd Rounder
Oden / Camby / Tolliver

Have big depth finally.

* i could also see a

Miller (waived) + young players (Babbitt/Williams) + #21 for Harris deal (via Utah assuming Kemba/Knight are drafted)

Harris / Ridnour / Mills
Roy / Matthews
Wallace / Batum
Aldridge / Tolliver
Oden / Camby

Raps Receive

Rudy Gay Xavier Henry and Grevais Vasquez

Memphis Receives

J Calderon Ed Davis

I know this wouldnt happen in a million years, but its nice to dream for a break finally happening for the franchise

Bayless - Grevais Vasquez
DeMar DeRozen - Xavier Henry
Rudy Gay - James Johnson
Andrea Bargnani - Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter - Sign a Vet

The only hole then would be PG which we could target Kabongo in the 2012 draft and take the hometown kid

Sign Free Agent Center (M.Gasol/Jordan/Dalembert)

Bayless/Calderon
DeRozan/Barbosa
Gallinari/J.Johnson
Davis/A.Johnson
FA/ Mozgov

Lawson/Felton
Affalo/JR?
Chandler/Toronto Pick
Bargnani/Harrington

^^ no way I'd add the pick there unless we're picking at #5 or #6 (and even then it would depend on who's available, because we have a chance to pick up a solid C prospect this year, which is important because it's unlikely that we'll be able to grab one of these free agent C's). I'd much prefer adding some crap salary to Gallinari (Harrington? Birdman?) and/or giving them a young player (James Johnson?) to avoid giving up our pick.

Bayless
DeRozan
Gallinari
Davis
(Kanter? Biyombo? Val?)

Gallo would be a real good fit here, especially if we could keep have JJ off the bench. Denver should have some available assets this summer, maybe if not Gallo, we can get in on the Wilson Chandler sweepstakes.

I think we need to couple Barbosa with Bargnani, if we are looking to move the latter, instead of Jose. Bargnani hurts us more because of the position he plays. But he also helps us secure a higher pick in the 2012 draft, which is absolutely stacked. Although it's not guaranteed we'll have Barbosa for the year after, in order to couple him with Bargnani, at that time.
