Chicago Cubs pitcher Andrew Cashner had to stop a bullpen side session on Monday three-quarters of the way through his workout.
The right-hander, who is rehabbing a right rotator cuff strain in Mesa, Ariz., told Cubs coaches that he felt a twinge in his right shoulder.
Cashner is going home to Texas on Tuesday for personal reasons unrelated to his injury, and according to the Cubs, he will be evaluated by their medical staff when he returns. An MRI is the usual procedure in cases like this.
