Ford is a tool. Wolves will draft Williams and either trade him for a good young player, trade down or keep him.

We all know JaVale is never going to be that good anyway.

Wow that would be terrible.

I disagree whole-heartedly! I think Minny could use Blatche as a Center next to PF Kevin Love, and be successful.
For the life of me, I don't know why people on this board keep throwing Crawford out there like he's "filler". Dude is CLEARLY a piece of our "rebuilding". We could have a very nice backcourt for years to come, i.e. Arenas/Hughes (which we should not have broken up).
Anyway, I'd love to send Minny Blatche and the #6 for Williams @ #2 and a contract.

I wouldn't trade Crawford...

I'd trade Blatche to Minnesota though

According to Ford, Minny is open to trade the pick for veteran help. Unfortunately, we don't have that unless we're willing to part with Blatche or something.

in a perfect world where Hughes turns down a huge payday maybe.
EG was very smart to let LH walk for the kind of money he would have
had to pay.

Shoot, I'd do Blatche+6 for the #2. Any player they sent back would be a bonus.

Well that's the thing, if Minny wants to trade out of 2, they probably don't want to be at 6 either. I dunno, we have to remember these top picks make MLE money right off the bat, so we have to ask ourselves if we really want a team with two lottery picks making $11 million total the first year, plus another first round pick.

I would do Blatche and 18 for the 2nd pick. I don't know. I'm still trying to process this.

Honestly, who in the hell really wants Blatche. He's basically a lazy sack of crap with no work ethic whatsoever and a terrible off-the-court distraction.

No one is going to trade down if he's the incentive.

Those are the guys I think are best for the Wizards and I think that one should be available at 6(I think Walker and Knight go in the top 5).

Ford's latest mock:

#6 - Kawhi Leonard
#18 - Klay Thompson

I'm warming up to Leonard, but I'm still not sold on the pick.

I like the first 2 guys but wonder, perhaps naively, if the deal on Jordan
Williams isn't home town hype.

I'd be okay with Leonard if he has elite defensive potential to become a lock down wing and has a decent enough stroke to become a reliable kick out option for Wall--at this point I know nothing about him. I'd be disappointed with Klay Thompson, he seems like a severely less athletic version of Nick Young.

Gut instincts tell me that Leonard and Biyombo are the top two options at the moment. Seraphins total lack of development will probably dissuade EG from going the route of "Undeveloped/raw/potential defensive banger rebounding foreigner."

But wouldn't Biyombo fall into that same category? Everybody is thinking he's the next Ibaka, but for every one Ibaka there are ten Sene's or Diop's.

I'm all for drafting Leonard, then Hamilton or Faried.....and then with the 2nd rd'er, select Harper or the hometown kid, Jordan Williams. I'm not saying it becuase I'm a homer.....I think he could stick. I'd love to see him battle Seraphin in practice. Pushing each other, making the other a better player.
If we were to lose NY in F/A, I wouldn't be against drafting a pure shooter like The Jimmer @ #18.

That's what I'm saying. KS had virtually no development and really showed no signs of being a quality NBA player last year. EG's thoughts are probably fool me once-shame on you, fool me twice-shame on me. KS and Biyombo are cut from the same cloth.

EG doesn't have a contract past next year, which is why I see him taking the player most likely to contribute immediately, rather than a project. He doesn't have time to sit on a project like Vesely/Valentine/Donny M/BB. Leonard appears to be the player most likely to immediately contribute next season "worthy" of the 6th pick.

This would make me throw up in my mouth. Two players with huge bust potential.

This is a very unpredictable draft... And for that reason, I'd stay put and draft a sure thing with perhaps mediocre upside at 6. Thompson and Morris fit that bill.

Because you've gotten atleast one solid rotation guy at that spot, you can shoot for the moon at 18. If Hamilton or Singleton are there, you draft them. If we got Thompson, I'd even be happy with Honeycutt at 18.

The only other player I'd consider at 6 is Walker. Guy could be a star... And then we could hope Faried is there at 18 so that he can chase down rebounds from the misses of all our chuckers.

To me, Wiz are in decent shape because there are several players with one good dimension likely to be available at 18.

Draft someone at 6... Draft his opposite at 18.

Don't give away Crawford.

Stockpile talent at whatever spot, play with energy... Trade your chips when the time is right.

A Wolves fan said this and I would do it quick:

Take Williams. Trade Beasley + whoever to the Wizards for 6 and take Biyombo

Return to Washington Wizards
