Oshley got played

Post#1 » by RiversideClips » Wed May 18, 2011 1:37 am

I was pissed b4 w/ the Baron for Mo + draft in the 1st place. Why was this trade made so late, when we could have traded tonight? Our G.M. proved tome that he got hosed & can't play w/ the big boys. Hey Neil, r u happy now that you saved a couple of million for the next 3 years?
Horrible move!! I still dislike that Mo Williams is on our roster, he is not very good.
Don't talk about hindsight, I have been posting about this trade since it happened!

Are you serious?

If anything, it's ironic that finally there was a finally stud available with our #1 pick with Blake, then this year we trade it away before the lottery, but there's no clear studs in this draft.

Olshey: "we had a 97% chance of sitting here tonight with Baron Davis, the 8th pick in a bad draft and no cap flexibility."

^Touche, but he still could have pushed for a #1 protection against the Cavaliers and I think they still would have bitten for the fact they thought they wouldn't win the lotto.

The Clips didn't need to trade when they did; there is no question about that. Oshley, being inexperienced as a G.M. got nervous and threw the cards in way too early. I realize that it was a small chance of landing#1, but since the trade I have been vocal that I didn't think the Clips got Fair Market Valu.
Now, with Mo Williams I don't think we are a better team; Mo is not a very good NBA caliber point guard. Mo is a wonderful shooting guard, but not as good as E.J.. Fact is the Clips need a PG & a #3 by waiting until Ping Pong Day Clipper Management could have gotten a clearer picture of whom was staying in the Draft, then figure on trading pieces. I hope some way Oshley can get a PG & a #3, it will be much harder now.

I'm not blaming Olshey much, but this years #1 pick + Minny pick could have landed us CP3 or Howard easily.

Orlando would have taken Kaman, Aminu, + those 2 picks for Howard
