MIN Could Trade #2 or Trade Down?

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Wed May 18, 2011 3:44 am

The Wolves very well could trade that No. 2 overall pick for a veteran(s) and/or a pick later in the lottery.

Kahn said he and his staff will have to discuss if such a young team should get younger still.

"Is there a tipping point where you're too young, where it's just not right," he said. "I won't say the draft pick won't be used."

Come on Kahn. Id love to swing a deal to get Flynn + D.Williams from them. Id throw them #5 and a 2012 1st lottery protected till 2015 or something.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

#1 is more valuable because Irving will almost sure to go first. D-Will is still debatable second.

Other than Davis or DeRozan all we can basically offer is garbage. OTher teams can outbid us rather easily

Someone convince him to take Bargs. Love will cover Bargnani's rebounding and having two outside shooting big men would be DEVASTATING for opposing teams. Definitely worth the #2 pick.

Calderon? Fits the veteran bill, would help Rubio out in making the NBA transition.

TOR GETS: #2, Jason Thomspon/Sammy D + Udrih
MINNY GETS: #5, Calderon, Alabi, Barbosa
SAC GETS: Flynn

Buy a mid-late first rounder (as I'm sure there will be teams selling) if it can keep Amir out of the deal. I doubt they'd want him in the first place but who knows?

Thoughts? :dontknow:

Here's an unlikely one:

Bargnani+Jose+J.Johnson+#5 for Pekovic+Ridnour+Flynn+Darko+#2

Biyombo/Bargs
Love/AR
Beasley/Johnson
Wes/Webster
Rubio/Jose

Darko/Pek --sign an FA C!
Davis/Amir
DWill/Kleiza
DeMar/Barbosa
Bayless/Flynn/(Ridnour-trade him!)

Yeah, probably deals similar to this, where they are getting quality over quantity.

dagger mentioned Iguodala as a possible target as well. Not sure who Philly would pick at 2, probably Kanter, which would leave Williams available to the Jazz...maybe we could work out a deal with UTA like you said Doc.

You guys are crazy. There is only one guy in this world more infatuated with tall white guys than Colangelo, and he happens to hold the #2 pick. It's a match made in NBA Efficiency Hell.

(For the record: why bother?? Irving is the guy you need, and he's not falling to #2. May as well take a flyer on a big at #5, develop and suck for another year and wait for 2012's (potential) super draft.)

Don't they like Bayless?

Try a #5 + Bayless + anything they want outside of DeRozan or Davis

FOR

The #2 pick

Definitely think there is a deal there to be made, hope BC can work it out

Jose and 5th for Darko, Ridnour and 2nd?

Having Darko and Bargnani would be comical from a panic point of view but Darko is actually a good defensive C....and would still hope Bargnani would be moved

Ridnour backs up Bayless which might be the biggest issue.

Short sighted to trade 2012 1st for this year's pick.
Next year's top 10 can be better than this year's top 2.
I would rather give up this year's 5th for next year's top 15.
