seriously guys, big time congrats and good luck with the picks! i was pulling so hard for you guys last night it was almost like it was the D-Rose 1.7% miracle all over again when you guys came up winners. hopefully the karma wave continues and we're able to send the cHeat back to MIA in a 0-2 hole after tonight.

personally, i'd go derrick williams #1 and kemba walker at #4. you've already got hickson who's developing nicely inside and if you can keep varejao healthy next year, that's a solid frontcourt. put derrick at the 3 and kemba at the point and that's a solid roster to move forward with. irving won't be a bad option at the point either, though. i don't think you can go wrong with either at #1. if you go irving at #1 and you're able to snag kanter at #4, then you can look to move varejao for the young wing (maybe to memphis in a oj mayo package?). that wouldn't be too shabby a haul moving forward either. you guys have a bunch of options and the only result is you getting significantly better, regardless of what path you take. good luck!

Congrats for nice lottery results from Sixers fan.. Too bad it's kind of a weak draft.. It would mean a lot more for you if it was 2012.. I hope you improve your team with them, though.. Good luck! ;)

You guys would be foolish not to go with Derrick Williams first overall and then Kemba 4th. I don't understand the hype around Kyrie when he only played in 12 games last season and he has to where a speical shoe on his foot for the rest of his career. I mean you guys dealt with big Z for year having foot issues. It would be a mistake to draft Kyri IMO. He has bust written all over him. Whereas Williams and Walker are two stud players who are proven.

Heh, yeah. If only the elite freshmen didn't return to school. We'd have Irving and probably one of Perry Jones/Harrison Barnes...ah, would've been nice.

Still, getting Irving and then the remaining player of Kanter/Jonas isn't too bad either.

TheOUTLAW wrote:Dutuctive Dep, the way that the lottery works is that any of the lottery teams can get one of the top 3 picks, but it is weighted in favor of the teams with the worst records. after those top 3 spots are filled the rest of the lottery is populated by worst record order. So when teams were leapfrogged it meant that their pick was going to be top 3. For instance, there was no scenario that the Clips pick could have been #4. They were either going to be top 3 or somewhere between 8 and 11. When that pick was not there at 8 we knew that it was a top 3 pick. There was also no chance that the Cavs original pick could have been lower than #5.

Gotcha

While I'm happy for the Cavs fans, I don't get the notion that the Cavs deserved the number one pick. This is their 4th time with the 1st pick. Not to mention that the Timberwolves deserved it, since they had the worst record.

Dude honestly I think Stern just realizes that regardless of how many picks/talented young players Kahn gets, they tank EVERY year, and make ZERO effort to put anything together year after year, and honestly they don't deserve it. They would probably bench Irving for the first half of the season or something (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

I don't think that any team "deserves" the 1st pick.. It is just a matter of luck and fortunately, things fell through perfectly for the Cavs.

If Stern rigged the lottery, how come lowly New York Knicks got lousy picks in the seasons they were crap or Boston not getting the no 1 pick on 97 ???
Sick of the unfounded tin foil hat paranoia crap, really happy the Cavs got 2 top 5 picks, you guys have been to hell and back.
