It would be awesome if fisher just retired. Could we then use his contract as an expiring in that scenario?

4 team deal

The central portion of this trade would be something like:

LAL gets
-#2 Pick

MIN gets
-Igoudala
-A. Daye
-#7 Pick

DET gets
-W. Johnson
-J. Flynn
-#16 Pick

PHI gets
-P. Gasol
-B. Gordon

I don't think we will do any major trades or signings this offseason. I think we will keep our core intact. I hope we will get a faster, younger PG like Jonny Flynn, Aaron Brooks or Lou Williams. Then get a backup SG like JR Smith, Jamal Crawford,Jason Richardson, or John Salmons. If we can do these things we will win another championship.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Tayshaun Prince is an unrestricted FA this year. Obviously he'd have to take a pay cut (made $11M last season!) but maybe he's tired of losing in Detroit. He's still a good defender and has athleticism that we're lacking.
Thank you, Phil.

Probably not, I'd look to flip that #2 for an established star (preferably a PG)

LAL IN-J. Calderon, A. Blatche, R. Lewis, #6 Pick
LAL OUT-P. Gasol, L. Walton OR S. Blake, D. Fisher, #41 Pick, #46 Pick, Cash

POR IN-#5 Pick, S. Alabi
POR OUT-N. Batum P. Mills, #21 Pick

TOR IN-N. Batum, P. Mills, #21 Pick, D. Fisher (Bought out with cash from Lakers)
TOR OUT-#5 Pick, S. Alabi, J. Calderon

WSH IN-P. Gasol, L. Walton OR S. Blake, #41 Pick, #46 Pick
WSH OUT-A. Blatche, R. Lewis, #6 Pick

Why for LAL-Lewis has an ugly contract but a fairly reasonable buyout next year. I feel that Blatche needs a change of scenery and his contract is decent for his output. Calderon would be an upgrade at the point. There would still be notably talent on the board at #6 or the Lakerscould try shopping it to other teams.

Why for POR-The Lakers can add Ebanks to this deal to help offset Batum's loss but the main gain here is the #5 pick. I'm not sure what position Portland would go for (probably a PG like Knight or Walker) but there would still be talent on the board. Alabi gives them additional C insurance.

Why for TOR-Not sure if there's anyone on the board at #5 the Raptors like and so they trade their pick+Alabi to get two young promising players in Batum and Mills. They also get the Blazers 21st pick.

Why for WSH-Gasol would be a great veteran infusion into this young Wizards team. He would be a great mentor next to McGee and would play very well with Wall IMO. They also dump off Rashard's massive contract (at the cost of the #6 pick of course) but gain a couple of second rounders as compensation. Blake or Walton is filler.

One team would have to take on Matt Barnes or Shannon Brown presuming that they accept their player options to make salaries work.

Moonpie, stop posting trades that are copy/pasta from the T&T board. Just link the thread if you really want lakers fans to see it.

I can't be the only one annoyed by that.

Philly has no need for Gordon, so he would be coming to LA I imagine. And the question is do they want gasol? Idk....

Detroit is getting WAY to much value for Gordon and the #7. Cut out Flynn and maybe it makes sense.

if irving falls to number 2, then the lakers should most definitely think about this deal. They'd need a serviceable big coming back to 100% pull the trigger.

no effing way I would gamble and trade one of our core players for a draft pick. I dont care if that pick is projected to be another lebron, thats just too much of a risk to take.

If there's a way to flip Gasol for a serviceable young prospect and a high lotto pick, then I'd consider it. You could then make a play at Paul and might not have to involve Bynum.

kobe/bynum/pau....any combo of these 2 would already put us over or near the current cap even if no one else is on the team

You move Pau for the #2 by himself and you make a gigantic 15m TPE+Tolliver. Considering that there is no MLE and teams will be hampered as far as who they can sign you could probably acquire quite a few players with that kind of TPE.

Pau for the #2 eh ... hmm ... would you then trade the #2 and the TPE straight up for CP3? That could be done as netting Kyrie Irving at #2 (I believe the cavs will take Derrick Williams with the 1st pick and either Kemba or Knight with their #4 pick) for Paul would be decent for the Hornets. So basically we would be swapping Pau for CP3 ... I'd do that.

As for Monta+Biedrins+#11 for Pau+Ebanks ... no thanks unless we have a flip trade for Monta all lined up. For example, if we are gonna send Monta and the #11 to the Hornets for Paul, fine ... I'd do it.

nah you don't break up a championship team like that. you'll be getting a question mark player in return. there's just too much risk. I can't remember a championship team in the history of the nba that made a similar move.

plus no team with a top 3 pick, would trade their pick. your forgetting every team that has a lottery pick, are rebuilding teams. unless they're also gonna get a young player with a good potential in return, they will not trade you their pick for a 30 year old all star player that has a massive contract.

if that 2nd pick can net a player like chris paul. that team who has the #2 would just cancel us out in the trade. and trade for chris paul straight up instead of getting gasol lol

Still think we can manage to get that Jack/Ariza-Blake deal on the table and then follow up with just a good draft of a backup SG and a PF without too much trouble. If things really suck mid-year you can trade for a decent backup SG but as of now that should be enough.
