Charles Jenkins out of Hofstra might be a guy who rises on boards. 6'3", 220 lbs. People are trying to see if he can play PG.

Is that what BC said??

Unless he's throwing out a massive smokescreen, it looks like it will almost certainly be one of Kemba or Knight. He's mentioned both of them by name numerous times already and keeps putting emphasis on point guards.

NOTE: Interesting to hear that BC thinks that BOTH (Knight and Walker) will be available at 5? At least it seems that way by that comment. Does he know something that we don't???

After saying that he talked about the international big men and how the Raptors are in position to draft someone who might be a couple years away. Then talked about looking at trades and possibly adding some experience to the roster.

Sorry to be a broken record... but HSOB, are you also located in the U.S. or is there a way for Canadians to access ESPN3? I'd love to watch some of the combine at work.

Yea just watched that interview too. BC named those guys but then also went on to say that with their pick they don't mind taking a guy that will take a couple of years to develop instead of an instant impact guy. Went on to name a lot of the Euro's that should be drafted early on. Said lots of options where they are.

Did he mention anything about potentially trading up?

I would love for BC and co. to focus on trying to pry away the T-Wolves pick.

sounds like we should be focusing on who he hasn't mentioned

my guess is he is hoping Kanter falls to the Raps.....unless he mentioned him :)

I don't believe he mentioned trading up. He discussed Kanter but mentioned how he has a limited body of work to go by. He said he watched him practice with Kentucky this year.

I have my personal worries about Kanter. I followed him since he came to the U.S to play high school/college. Barely anyone has seen him but he must have improved at Kentucky being able to practice against them. His lack of above the rim play is my one concern.

Andy Katz just interviewed Colangelo at the combine. To paraphrase:

Not surprised that Irving isn't participating. Once again, referred to the murkiness after the top 2 prospects.

He said he's looking at a lot of options at 5. He liked the two guard prospects, Knight and Walker, that's the first thing he said. Said that Kanter would be an option on the board, but that there's limited body of work for him to judge on. Katz then interrupted and asked 'how do you judge Kanter'? He answered by saying that he was at the Kentucky practices where he saw Kanter some. He also referred to the Nike Hoop Summit.

Colangelo then threw out a bunch of names, and described them each: Biyombo, Valanciunas, Vesely.

Most interesting thing was this: He said that he's not looking for 'instant gratification' at 5, when Katz asked whether the 5th pick will yield someone who can help 'move the Raptors up the standings'. He said we're still rebuilding, and he then mentioned the young guys we have: DeRozan, Davis, Bayless, Johnson, even Bargnani. Specifically, he said that they were willing to wait a couple of years on a guy just like they have with some of the young ones we already have. But, also that they have flexibility with respect to the cap to make some moves.

It was a good interview. I don't think I caught everything, but it was informative I felt. Basically, I got the sense that they will take the best 'prospect' available, whoever that may be.

They turned it over the 'analysts' including Chad Ford, who said that it was interesting hearing BC say that they were willing to wait on a prospect, which then prompted him to bring up Valanciunas. Ryen Russilo, the host, then asked whether Ford felt that the Raptors could afford to, take another European player, to which Ford responded by saying that Colangelo hasn't shied away from taking them, and that International players like playing in Toronto.

I'm not as fast as Rhett, so I probably missed something. But, that was the extent of the segment on BC and the Raps.

He also mentioned Amir and Bargnani when talking about the roster saying they're still young players in the league.
