Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 8
To me, what would make the most sense is to work with Utah on swapping picks.
They seemingly want a guard, I believe we want a C. Their guard will be available at #5 and our C will most likely not get past #4.
If we were to agree on principle to draft Knight if they draft Kanters, swap picks and add maybe $500,000, I think they would be silly not to bite.

Biyombo fanboys are eerily quiet.
Went over to the bismack bandwagon board last night ...they were talking about how optimistic they are on his offense saying his offensive skills will pan out in 3 yrs along with that DOY type defense....I say that's alot of BULL talk.

Milwaukee will get that #2 pick if they want to deal Bogut. Otherwise, it probably goes to Philly for Iguodala.

I was wondering about Bargnani + 2012 pick for the 2nd pick...is that too much?
I'd happily give up Bargnani but wouldn't give up the 2012 pick right now, unless it was protected, but then it wouldn't really have much value to Minnesota.
Yeah I do worried that our 2012 pick turned out to be Harrison Barnes pick and I would be heartbroken if we traded that pick away like that.

We do need a C though.
I hope Amir and Ed both come in at 235/240 lbs...because if we don't get a C, those two are going to have to pick up the slack along with Bargnani.

Positive comments of Chad Ford at his tweet about Kanter
http://twitter.com/#!/chadfordinsider
"Enes Kanter impressed GMs here. Looked more athletic than they thought. Marshon Brooks looked great too. Ditto Kenneth Faried"
Seems it is most def. he will be gone before Raptors pick him.

I've been pushing for a Bargnani/ Varejao trade for a while. Makes sense for both teams.
Varejao is not flashy, but he has a crazy motor & stats have shown he's one of the best defensive C's in the league.

* Props to the man, the myth, the legend......TZ.

That actually makes alot of sense....but damn I felt like we need a better point guard...I can't convert from Kemba back to kanter LOL. Maybe a kabongo in 2012 is worth the wait...and stick with our Kanter + Davis duo plan

I actually looked at the cavs board few weeks ago on bargnani/varejao thing...some say they would love bargnani's offense and sort of trash varejao saying he should be a bench player rather than a starter......others say bargnani's flaws (no need to say more) and refuses to ask for bargnani.

I'd pull the trigger on that no questions asked.

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 8
Dammit I hope BC is able to do some good selling for that #2 pick. Tell them what you've been telling Raptor fans for years about Bargnani. He might believe you like some of our fans.
I don't know if Sixers would deal Iggy for Derrick Williams. It doesn't really make sense when they have a player like Thad Young who is similar. I thought they wanted to keep making the playoffs and not rebuild again.
The Pacers I can see doing it since they made the Playoffs only because the East sucks and they are still half way in rebuilding mode but I don't think T-Wolves want Granger. He's a pure SF and he would not fit in well with Beasley and Love. Someone is not going to get their shots and that is all Granger and Beasley is good for since they can't create for others.

Never makes sense to trade for a big that plays no D and doesn't rebound.

I like both of them, and I hope we get one of those two with our pick. Kanter reminds me of Monroe, and Biyombo reminds me of a Noah/Garnett type of gritty, in-your-face defender (I posted a video with an example of why). Both would make me much more optimistic about our team's outlook than anyone else.
