Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
what do you think about bargnani+kleiza for b.davis?
why for TOR: get rid of kleiza, give PT for developing Ed and Amir and #5 (kanter/valanciunas/vesely), have some leadership and a good mentor for DD from baron
why for CLE: get a legit scorer in bargs (playing 4 and being next to varejao who can help his lack of defense), give full control of the team to Kyrie (but giving him less pressure with bargs as 1st off option)
or about this:
tor in: b.davis, s.curry, a.biedrins
tor out: bargs, calderon, kleiza, #5
cle in: bargs, kleiza
cle out: davis
por in: calderon, #11 from GS
por out: miller
gs in: miller, #5
gs out: curry, biedrins
TOR:
davis/curry/bayless
curry/DD/bayless
DD/JJ
Ed/Amir
Biedrins/FA
CLE
irving/session
eyenga/gee/harris
kleiza/Harangody
bargs/jamison
varejao/Erden/ #4 (kanter valanciunas or vesely)
(and they can look at FA or use a combination of hickson, eyenga/gee/harris and (eventually) #4 to get something at sf or sg spot)
POR
Calderon/Rudy
Roy/Matthews
Wallace/Batum
LMA/#11
Camby/Oden
GS
Miller/#5 (if Knight is available)
Monta
Wright
Lee
Udoh/#5

So Knight and Walker have more potential than our Bayless + Johnson duo? I ask out of ignorance of the two prospects. If Walker (or Knight) is clearly a better prospect than Bayless, the deal looks solid.

I was trying to figure out why Kemba Walker is better than Jerryd Bayless, then it hit me. Kemba's shot creation is on another level. Sure, Jerryd gets his share of lay-ups on his own but it's often a tough shot, not to mention he can't create a jumper for himself. This also ensures Kemba is killer in the pick-and-roll which Jerryd struggles at.

What woud u take from NETS: for pick
Nets hold the 27th pick, but they want to move up pretty high to grab a good prospect. Since BC dosent seem too high on the talent available at 5th overall, wouldnt u trade with NJ or atleast entertain the offer......
and what would it take for the Nets to make a dea with the RAPS?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I'd only take D-Will for it. There next best player can't rebound, and no need to have more of that.

We plan to use the 5th pick, they won't trade us Deron or Lopez, and everybody else on that roster is garbage. I don't see anything there at all.

BC said himself on multiple interviews that the 5th was no different than the 3rd. Besides there is no one on the Nets other than Lopez and Williams that I would even consider. But obviously the nets wouldn't trade Williams. Lopez on the other hand has amazing offense, but averages 6 rebounds a game. wtf.

I think this is a partial truth. You may get the same player at 5 you covet at 3 but you could also not get say Kanter or Knight at 5 so it may prove to be not at all the same. If Knight and Kemba are deemed to be equals and you are satisfied to get either then that is different but if you really want Kanter then I'm sorry 5th is worse. Everyone was convinced the Raps would pick Avery and they didn't. The same buzz happened for Gerald Green. With Demar there was more of a consensus. I'm glad we have a guy who can pull an Ed Davis pick out of a hat. Look at our drafting. Shooting guard, power forward, point guard or big in 2011 and point guard or wing in 2012. Four picks to lay the foundation of the rebuild and with any luck all will be starters and hopefully at least one will be an allstar. The first two were very good selections at those draft positions.

Lopez is soft and doesn't rebound. Why would you want him? Our starting front court wouldn't even average 10 rebounds a game. Put the two worse rebounding big man on the same team. Brilliant!

RocLaFam, I had the exact same notion save for the inclusion of JJ for Rush.
Raps land Hibbert (defense/length) and Posey (exp 2011-12). Immediately our defense/rebounding gets better and we pick up a sizable expiring deal for the 2012 offseason.

So we trade the worst rebounding five to add the second worst rebounding five?

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo was asked by Andy Katz during ESPNU’s combine coverage who he likes at five. "I’m looking at a lot of talent at the number five spot. You know, there are two guards on the board at that point, Kemba Walker (and) Brandon Knight, that we’ve got a lot of interest in (and) we’ve talked about all year."

Looks more and more like we're leaning for a nice young PG in the draft... I'd be happy with either, but we'd have to make some room for either of them to get significant minutes at the point.

How is a lazy, unmotivated point guard a good mentor for DD? Please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

How about..
Utah Trades: Al Jefferson and Raja Bell
Toronto Trades: Jose Calderon and Amir Johnson (or Linas Kleiza considering they have numerous PFs already on their team) and #5 Pick or $3 million from the Bosh TPE for Bell
If Utah chooses the pick then they could draft Kanter to replace Jefferson.
If they choose the TPE we can draft Walker
But I wouldn't mind trading the pick to get Jefferson
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=3gqknvf
OR..
Golden State Trades: Stephen Curry and Andris Biedrins (wouldn't mind getting Biedrins contract if we land Curry)
Toronto Trades: Jose Calderon, #5 pick and the TPE
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=3qowpdb
Also, with BC getting an extension I highly doubt Bargnani will be traded anytime soon.
