Kemba Walker measured 6'1 in shoes according to a source in CHI. That's huge for his draft stock.

Wow that is pretty good news for Kemba and bad news for us in a way. While I'm glad he measured out well it could make him more attractive to teams that select ahead of us.

irving did not show up at the draft combine...colangelo said its normal but the analysts say its not, because lebron, wall and griffen were all there when they were getting drafted even tho they all knew they were the number 1 pick...they also say it could possibly be to hid his atheticisim and not have his stock drop? Anyways heres the link

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2011 ... id=6566218

Im hoping and hearing from cav fans that they would like to take derreck at first and kemba or knight at fourth which to me sounds better than irving and a potential big? If thats the case we have hope on kyrie after all if we some how manage to trade for that second pick....Heres to hoping guys if not im on the kemba bandwagon woooooo!

Wingspan is what I like to know.
I think Kemba is more like Wade mentality, so if he gets the physical attributes to guard PG, he would be very good (hard working, play for the team).

I'm becoming a fan of Kahn more and more everyday. Who the f would trade Rubio, Bealsey and a #2 pick for Granger of all people?

Anyone think we should grab a 2nd Rounder and look to get hometown kid Corey Joseph on the Raptors? HIs tolerance to ride the pine will be greater than most people since he is playing for his hometown, plus its a feel good story on the cheap. Cant be too bad having a hometown kid as the main towel waiver. And who knows, he might actually see some minutes due to the Jay Triano factor.

4 PG's under contract 3 of which under the age of 23? doesn't sound like a winning formula

What do people think of this Brazilian kid if we acquire another pick around #20.

Lucas Nogueira

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Luc ... eira-5957/

2011 Nike Hoop Summit: International Measurements
April 4, 2011
Lucas Nogueira
Weight: 218 lbs.
Height (w/o shoes): 6'10"
Height (w/ shoes): 6'11.5"
Wing Span: 7'5.5"
Body Fat: 7.8%
Standing Reach: 9'3"

Brazilian big man Lucas Nogueira had plenty of NBA draft buzz coming into the 2011 Nike Summit after impressing many who saw him last summer at the U-18 FIBA Americas tournament in San Antonio, where he led the tournament in rebounds, blocks, and field goal percentage. He played less than 13 minutes during the game at the Hoop Summit, second least on the team, but he did score 4 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and blocked a shot, and gave glimpses of why he is such an intriguing prospect.

Lucas's appeal starts with his incredible physical tools, as a 7-footer with a freakishly long 7'6” wingspan, and excellent mobility for a player his size. At this stage, his physical talents manifest themselves mainly in some jaw-dropping blocked shots, rebounds, and dunks from offensive rebounds, cutting to open spaces, and running the floor. His body is still very thin and weak, but that should come in time with the proper work ethic.

Lucas's offensive skill set is still very raw, but he shows glimpses of some promise, especially in his feel for the game, occasionally throwing some very impressive passes. He is still very limited as a scorer and has virtually no post game, but he has decent touch on his shot and is an outstanding finisher around the basket thanks to his physical tools.

Defensively, Lucas has incredible potential, as his size, length and mobility gives him the ability to cover a huge amount of ground and make a major impact as a shot-blocker. His fundamentals are fairly poor at the moment, struggling to step out on the perimeter, biting on pump-fakes and giving up ground too easily in the post, but he's often able to compensate for that with his sheer length and timing. He'll need to get significantly stronger to avoid being backed down in the paint by more physically mature big men, something that might take a few years and will surely involve plenty of hard work.

^^ I've been wanting Nogueira with a late pick for a while now. The problem is in this draft someone may gamble on him earlier. But he's definitely a great prospect with defensive upside. Very skinny and raw at this point in time, but he's got the length and athleticism to be a defensive presence in the paint if he pans out.

assuming we're not drafting a PG with our lotto pick I might be ok with it, although I'd prefer a Reggie Jackson/Josh Selby/Darius Morris over him.

I wasn't impressed at all with Nogueira while watching the Hoops Summit. He looked pretty useless. He needs to add a LOT of size & strength. His athleticism didn''t stick out either.

Agreed, imo he's still a few years away. He's an ideal candidate to draft and continue to let him play in Spain before bringing him over, kind of like an Omer Asik.

He seems pretty freakin' athletic to me. He just seems apathetic. Loren Woods-like.

The NBA needs to do something because kids like Nogueira don't belong in a 2 round NBA draft. He's much too raw to ever be able to evaluate whether or not he'll be a good pro.

They either need to deepen the draft (4-5 rounds) & add a proper farm system.

or

Increase the age restriction to 21-22.

Personally, I like the idea of having a proper farm system, deepening the draft & owning a players rights.

That's the problem. He really didn't do anything to impress. He was so tentative out there.

How do you judge someone's athleticism when they don't (or can't) even fight for the ball? The Loren Woods type apathy is a massive red flag.

Can't really judge someone when they only played 13 minutes. Plus he's only 18, not 25. He's very raw and got ways to go yet.

At any rate, DraftExpress has some other interesting players at that range as well. Another pick around that range could yield us a decent rotation player.

21 with a farm system.
