Interesting:

DraftExpress Jonathan Givony
Hopefully tomorrow we get more clarity on how scouts view Enes Kanter as a prospect. A lot of people like him, but no one seemed blown away.

Wonder if Kanter winds up being available at 5?

Irving, Walker, Knight so far.

Man the questions at the end were really tough to answer, the height, the point guard abilty stuff like that, glad Kemba handled the interview well. Man is calm and cool! 8-)

Knight talks really smart and articulate, after all he's book-smart

If he is I think it becomes a no brainer.

That's interesting. Chad Ford called him the biggest winner on the day. The knock on Kanter before today was the fact that we hadn't seen him play in forever. I thought he looked really good out there, especially when you consider how long he's been out. This is why players avoid doing these drills.

Well, it should be, but who knows with BC...

Yeah, because picking him would make far too much sense.

Yea, but I think outside of Bargnani he's proven that he's pretty good in the draft. It's with the free agent signings where he struggles.

Hopefully Kanter is one of those guys who can simply play, but teams shy away from because of perceived lack of athleticism.

It would be nice if he dropped to 5.

If we can come away with Kanter or Walker, I'll be happy.

I don't see Cleveland passing on Kanter.

I don't understand why everyone is concerned about athleticism with Kanter. Aren't centers supposed to be slow and heavy and have good strength lol? I mean who are some legit centers in this league who have good athleticism? This draft is ****, don't expect to grab a Dwight Howard.

Here's an interesting piece I found on Raptors Republic
The NCAA’s deadline to withdraw from the NBA draft has passed and the field is now set. Frustrated with the amount of subjective analysis surrounding the draft, especially comparisons based mostly around physical appearance, I attempted last spring to create a statistical means for comparing draft prospects to draft prospects from previous seasons. Here is a little explanation of the impetus for this project:

For years, every guard with exceptional leaping ability was potentially the next Michael Jordan. Every long white player who can shoot is the next Larry Bird, Keith Van Horn or Adam Morrison; depending on the era. Although, in some parts of Rhode Island they’re referred to as the second coming of Austin Croshere. Every point guard from Gonzaga is the next John Stockton, every huge, awkward center is the next Greg Ostertag and every shot-blocking center with African roots is the next Dikembe Mutombo. These comparisons, based on skin color, position, the college they attended or one singular attribute, do a diservice to the players and fans alike.

The idea was to create an objective method for comparing players, instead of having to rely so heavily on subjective observation. I recognize that this is largely an over-reaction which creates its own set of problems. This system is based on college statistics, and just those from the season before the player was drafted. Therefore, it doesn’t capture potential, patterns of development, personality, or athleticism; besides how it is tangentially reflected in a player’s production. What these similarity scores are meant to identify are the players who produced at the most comparable level to each draft prospect. John Hollinger, of ESPN, and Kevin Pelton, of Basketball Prospectus, both have similar systems, which haven’t been released yet for this year’s draft. However, theirs compare draft prospects to NBA players and are much more valuable in predicting potential career arcs for each player. Mine is merely a snapshot - at this moment in time Player A’s college production is most similar to Player B’s.

There is a list of pretty every player in the first round check it out it may surprise you

TheHoopsReport Ryan Feldman

Brandon Knight went out to dinner with the Toronto Raptors. I hear they have a lot of interest in Knight at 5.

Interesting, I'm hoping for Walker but I wouldn't have a problem taking Knight. Pretty sure it's going to come down to Knight and Walker for the Raptors

As much as I've been dissing Knight, I'd be fine with us taking him. If he busts though & proves me right, I'll be completely pissed.

Kanter is still my guy if he is there at 5. Next guy in line is Walker.

If they pick Knight, they had better have done their homework & considered how he'd fit on this team.

My problem with Knight is that he reminds me so much of Derozan. Raw, athletic, hard worker, good jumpshot, but not a whole lot else.

We'll be in HUGE trouble if both out guards lack court vision, have weak handles, & can't beat their man one on one off the dribble.

Anyone post this yet?

Kentucky center Enes Kanter, expected to be a top pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, would like to be drafted by the Washington Wizards in the NBA Draft. This is according to CSN Wizards reporter Chris Miller who spoke with the Turkish big man about the upcoming draft. Miller said that Kanter would like to play for the Wizards and John Wall who is apparently a friend of his off the court. Miller also cited owner Ted Leonsis' comments that the Wizards need to improve in the rebounding category, in 2010-11 Washington ranked 15th in the league with 41.3 rebounds per game as a team.

This is why I'd prefer Walker because of his ability to break down defenses and be a good passer from dribble penetration. We've been wanting a PG like that for a long time.

I'm still high on the bigs, but if we feel like Knight is going to end up being the most impactful player available when we pick then I'm fine with it, he's just 18 and I was pretty high on him going into the year. I'll be fine with any of Kanter/Biyombo/Knight/Walker/Valanciunas. I'll be really happy if we find a way to get two of them.

His handles are a serious concern...

During the televised combine, Frans Franchillo (sp?) mentioned that Knight can't go left at all. I dug up some clips and noticed that he's right, Knight almost always dribbles right.

How can a point guard not be able to go left? Him and Derozan would be pretty shaky handling the ball.
