Do we go for a pg/sg this year or wait for Kabongo next year? Draft Kanter or wait for Perry Jones?

Perry Jones isn't the like Kanter at all, but I know what you're saying.

OK, Kanter has proven himself as a legitimate 6'11.25" center. He's close enough that most people will refer to him as a 7 footer. What matters is that he's not undersized for a 5. If he was 6'9.25" then the exact measurement would be crucial but we know his height won't hold him back at close to 7 feet tall.

If we're drafting a pg this year, i'd rather look at a player like Michael Gilchrest next year.

You know what, I would try to get Washington's or Charlotte's other pick(s), and take Nikola Vucevic with it. I don't know how keen BC is on this draft, and whether it's even worth getting another pick, but if we want a big, and Kanter is gone, I wouldn't mind Vucevic at all. I see him as a Nenad Krstic, maybe better defensively, and a bit tougher. He'll be a solid, but not great rebounder. He did average 10.3 RPG this season, but I see him being closer to 7 RPG guy in the NBA, which isn't all that bad when we have Amir/Ed alongside him. That's not bad value in this draft.

I'd be happy with a Walker/Knight + Vucevic draft.

Would anyone be against picking leonard with the fifth pick and if so why? Plus do we really need knight or walker?

I think after Irving and williams, the player who has the most potential is Tristan Thompson. The Europeans and the Kembas are too much of a variable. Thompson is very young and truly talented, I hope the Raps draft him and he is able to play SF.

Also Thompson said in an interview Toronto already scheduled him for a workout.

The main knock on Leonard is his shooting/ball handling. He's a good rebounder/defender and is athletic. The question is if he's a significant upgrade over James Johnson.

LOL. I'm just looking at the numbers now.....

So all of this RAVING about Knight's "great size" & he is only 6'1.5"?

Everyone calling Kemba a midget & he's 5'11.5".

People made it sound like Knight was 6 inches taller than Kemba, but it's only 2".

I've been out all day, so that was the measurement for BK? That's surprising, he looked at least 6'3" but maybe it's because he's thin. With Knight's lack of a strong left hand dribble Kemba is looking better and better.

I think those are the measurements WITHOUT shoes. Knight 6"3 & Walker 6"1 WITH shoes.

Ok but still I'm not sure the upside on Knight is enough to take him over Walker. If BC feels it's enough I'll go with it but having a back court of guys who struggle to handle the ball could become stooge-esque.

^ I agree I think BC should take Walker and run if he's there... I just hope he doesn't take Valanciunas. BC does scare me with this we don't need help right away talk.

Seriously, it's horrible. With a top 5 pick you want a high potential guy that can contribute right away. Long term projects are for the late lottery.

If he's not looking for help right away he better be talking Biyombo over Valanciunas. At least Biyombo has epic defensive potential to go along with his high bust potential.

A 2nd rounder should be cheaper than dirt. Would you be interested in acquiring one for Isaiah Thomas? Compare his measurements to Nate Robinson, I wouldn't be surprised if they're extremely similar players. Both of their hearts are undeniable. He doesn't have the 43 inch vertical but he's an inch taller and has an inch advantage reach wise to go along with his 38.5 inch vertical.

^^ I'm not so high on Thomas, if I'm getting a late 1st/2nd rounder I'd go after other guards like Reggie Jackson/Selby/Darius Morris/CoJo (or better yet, athletic bigs like Tyler/Nogueira, or a tall scoring SF like Bertans)

I can see Jackson and Selby but Morris was really unimpressive to me in the first day of the combine. He got stripped play after play by a guy like Cojo. Speaking of Cojo, I would take a pass. I think you should also keep an eye on David Lighty. But don't sell Thomas short either.

wow its weird how Knight looked like he was as big as john wall yet he only measured at 6'1.5 barefoot with a good but not great wingspan. Kemba Walker is practically the same size as mike conley, chris paul, kyle lowry, and ty lawson and is a solid 185 so he's no TJ Ford or DJ Augustin. I think we should take him.

Just watch this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVNIB8dOkn8

how can you not want him on our team after what he's done for UCONN?

Which website is more accurate in assessing draft talents, NBADraft.net or Draft Express? I was reading James Johnson's profile and it was so funny that NBADraft.net compared JJ to Ryan Gomes (and to Granger as a best case scenario), while Draft Express also compared JJ to Ryan Gomes at a worst case scenario. However at Draft Express, they did state some of the weakness of JJ include average athleticism, and defense fundamentals, something I don't really agree with.

Gilchrist :droop: versatility and lock-down defense drools me!

Or Harrison Barnes with his clutch shooting ...but damn I like Gilchrist more 8-)
