Jeremy Tyler Should Be Drafted In The Lottery

Post#1 » by Point-God » Fri May 20, 2011 3:02 pm

It will be a mistake if teams don't take him there.

@chadfordinsider
Jeremy Tyler measured with the biggest wingspan -- a whopping 7' 5". He also had the largest standing reach at 9' 4.5"

He's 19 years old in addition to his obvious talents on the floor for anyone with access to his games.

Sear Sane has 7'8.5" wingspan; and Whiteside has 7'7" wingspan.

Doesn't mean nothing

Just heard on ESPN Jeremy Tyler is tearing it up at the NBA showcase in Chicago. Legit 6'-11" 260 lbs.
The ESPN guy said Tyler just moved himself back into the lower first round.

Also mentioned Enes Kanter as, yes, an absolute beast.

Likes Klay Thompson as that dead eye shooter.
Sleeper: Charles Jenkins, Hofstra, 6'-3" pg. Opening eyes in Chicago.

For talent, I'd love to draft him (Wolves). Only this is he could be another JR Rider....

Would way, way rather have Benson or Vuvecic.

Looks like an underrated big man draft at this point though
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

He's immature, but the comparisons to Sene and Whiteside is ridiculous.

Tyler's reported standing reach is 9'2.5 on Draftexpress, still really nice though, and the 262 with that wingspan, and his obvious skill set is very intriguing.

Chad Ford's tweet was off a couple inches, therefore I'm going to pull back a little on the lottery value, but certainly he should be a 1st rounder.

Worst case scenario, he becomes JaVale-like. Best case scenario, Bynum? Anyone agree?

I think he has the potential to be Bynum at best but he has some attitude/character concerns that could help him bust and be out of the league in 5 years. btw why isn't the guy in your avi wearing red?

Worst case is JaVale like? Try best case. Worst case is he flushes out of the league with the quickness he flushed out of the Israeli league.

He averaged 9 fouls and 6 turnovers per 36 in the Japanese league (MVP: Kosuke Takeuchi; Jai Lewis, Charles O'Bannon and Ryan Forehan-Kelly were 1st team selections). Large number of mistakes there. He'll probably need 1 year or 2 in the D-League.

Do you think he goes higher than 18-year old Nogueira (who has even better length and defensive potential, although he's a skinny kid)?

I'll take the 262 pound 19 year old kid from Cali over the 218 pound one from Brazil all day in this scenario. When I look at the basketball hall of fame and NBA All Star games I don't see too many Brazilian big men there.

People should not underestimate his character issues, Jeremy Tyler makes Demarcus Cousins look like AC Greene.

Yeah, lets be honest noone has seen him play and when he did play against low level competition he didn't play well. Maybe he turns out but lets not go overboard due to his athleticism.
