I like what I see from Miller, definitely hopping on the "tank 4 quincy 2k12" bandwagon. Not really a fan of Gilchrist, seems like another Julian Wright to me.

Miller's gonna school Barnes imho.

I won't be surprised if Harrison's stock drops with McAdoo joining the team since he doesn't seem that aggressive. I did like Barnes but I hope I see his handles improve and just being more assertive (same goes for Perry Jones).

Millers cockiness is incredible. I've watched about 6-7 of his games live and he literally yells "It's EASY!!!!!" at the free throw line or after a big play. The kid thinks he is unstoppable but that is a good quality to have, you want your player to have an ego that's what makes him the player HE is and not the same as everyone. By ego though I do not mean look down on everyone but to have that top level confidence on the court.

Personally I don't think Quincy can play the 3 in the NBA. His shot has a low release which can be easily stripped and I don't think he's quite that fast enough to get past NBA 3's. He's almost there but I think he'd be better off suited staying inside more once he adds some weight. He reminds me more of Lamar Odom than anyone. Has some post moves, can shoot, can bring the ball up the court if need be. He says he wants to be like Durant and likes KG as well. He has a tendency to stop trying when things get tough with him, he needs to change that ASAP.

With all that said he is still my favorite prospect from the 2011 high school class even over Rivers who is going to Duke (my NCAA team).

http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/2011/0 ... array.html

I’m told by impeccable sources that the Raptors did manage to meet with a handful of possible draft picks over the two days as they get down to figuring this out in earnest.

Who?

Well, the list I got had:

Derrick Williams

Klay Thompson

Brandon Knight

Kemba Walker

Kawhi Leonard

Alec Burks

The twins Markus and Markieff Morris.

Now, these were chats after watching some of them work out and there’s been no consensus developed, no firm “list” drawn up and it’s still relatively early in the process.

Givony article on JVal's buyout. He's higher on our list than Kanter. Can he get his own bandwagon thread now or does he have to share it the other skinny white Euro?

Good to see that we were able to talk to a handful of players. Glad to see us interview Brandon, Kemba, Dwill, and Burks.

He's higher on Cleveland's draft board? Wow, that's pretty surprising.

Why? He's gone out and proven to be one of the best young centers in Europe. Some scouts consider him the best European prospect since Pau Gasol. Kanter, I think, will also be good, but the fact that there's not much game action to go on and he's not exactly an athletic marvel can certainly scare teams off.

Personally, I'd prefer Val had a thread and Vesely didn't. But I suppose I'm biased.

"Val is higher than Kanter on our draft board" means: "please take Val over Kanter so that we can draft the latter (who, in fact, is actually higher on our draft board)."

Honestly, I wouldn't be mad picking Val if both Knight and Kemba are gone. But it sounds like he's top dog on our draft board so ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't hate Val. I just found it surprising because it seemed like everyone was saying that Kanter would be the fourth pick.

I guess that won't be the case, however, if Val is still on the board.

(1) Give Val his own thread
(2) He would be a great pick and a fantastic project at C.

I'm on the BB bandwagon and off the Kemba bandwagon.

The only nagging thing for me has been that Bayless was so good down the stretch. I can't see Knight or Kemba being an upgrade over Bayless for us. So it would be a waste of a pick because we'd just substitute what we already had.

I watched the Nike Hoop Summit and was really impressed obviously with BB; but now I've watched all his game tape in the ACB. I really think that he can get 10+ rebounds & 3+ blocks as a starter in the NBA when he get some extra development. For that reason I like him at #5 because he can complement our team makeup so well.

My observations both good and bad:

-He plays Center exclusively in the ACB
-He's intense & active. There's very little coasting
-He denies throw in passes at a very high rate
-He has good defensive awareness, rotates & communicates well
-He's pesky. Other teams get frustrated playing him.
-He denies deep post position effectively
-He has great timing on his shot blocking attempts
-I like his shotblocking because he's not trying to throw it into the stands- they're just denials
-Low fouling rate
-He does a good job boxing out on shots
-He aggressively chases rebounds outside of his base-
-He fumbles about 1/5 of his rebounds which can cause some problems
-He finishes very strong
-He has a simple offense of transition dunks, layups from 3-4 ft, alley-oops, putbacks
-His only offensive move seems to be get deep post postions, 1 dribble, turn & dunk, layup or bounce off the glass.
-He never shoots jump shots
-He's not a good FT shooter

If your looking for val to be a guy who can score often in the post I don't think that will happen, all your getting is length. I'd much rather have Biyombo, hes a better shot blocker, more athletic, probably longer, thicker, stronger, gives more effort, and probably a better rebounder. The thing with Biyombo is he doesn't look clueless on either side of the ball, which is impressive for a guy who just started playing, val on the other hand sometimes look like andrea with effort, thats the thing that scares me.

Totally different players but I suppose it's an easy comparison since they're both from over seas.

I don't think that's true at all. I've watched about 10 Rytas games, I've never seen him take a single play off.

Yes that is why I said bargnani with EFFORT. He gives effort but looks lost at times.
