I think they should substitute Washington out of the name. I know people will hate that but there seems to be no nickname right for the team other than the Bullets.

I like "Capitol City Wizards" kind of like Golden State Warriors. I think if that would happen more people would refer to the team as Capitol City more than The Wizards

Spin it around: Wallets. Sort of. (with a name change, it's gonna cost you more)

Turn the Wizards into a mess: Drawzis (maybe get a little von Trier-like coverage)

Justice is good because of the great headlines: Justice Prevails, Justice Denied, Lebron Faces Justice, Wall is supreme court Justice, etc. On second thought, that could get tired after not too long.

Other DC type names: G-Men (keep G-Whizz, G-Force), The Maul, The Hill

I've read that Washington Monuments might have some intellectual property issues. I wouldn't be surprised by the same for the Washington Generals, and besides, that name's already associated with losing.

Justice wouldn't fly, any non-plural noun or plural not ending in "s" is a dicey proposition for a sports franchise, that is the XFL side of the Force/Rush/Blast/Power. Justices, on the other hand, is both plural and regionally appropriate. Plus you have just about the best headline hokey sports journalism has ever produced should the team ever win another NBA championship:

The Supreme Court Justices

Also "Capitol City" sounds like something you'd get in a comic book where the author wanted the story to be set in Washington but wasn't prepared to grant his or her audience possessed sufficient imagination to allow a real city with fake people in it.

Grays - While I like the hisorical significance - it's too dull. Monuments - too stiff.

I kinda like Admirals, and Justice would work for me as well. Get those names to Ted asap. We don't need two teams in the same city named Capitals/Capitols. It would be too confusing. Presidents and Lobbyists sound too much like "official" Washington to me.

DC already had a USFL team called the "Federals" back in the early 80s. In fact, my cousin played WR for them. I'd go to some of the games at RFK.

But, as I've said, I don't have a problem with Wizards. Just win baby....and any name will sound like a winner.

Well, as a long time fan I'd love to see the return to Bullets as my top preference.

Otherwise I'm fine with Wizards. It is a basketball term... a wizard w/ the ball... a ball wizard. I always liked the song pinball wizard. And Lord of the Rings type stuff has always been intriguing to me, if bizarre. But the image of a Wizard on the court that I have is Earl "The Pearl" Monroe. HE was a Wizard on the court if there ever was one! So for that reason alone I kinda like Wizards.

If we were to go to something new....

1. Washington Admirals

2. Washington Capitols

3. Washington Glory

4. Washington Rebels

5. Washington Grays

6. Washington Dukes

7. Washington Commanders

8. Washington Americans

9. Washington Justice

10. Washington Renegades

Justice interests me a bit more after reading some DC stats....

Major Rivers - Potomac River, Anacostia River
Highest Point - Tenleytown - 410 feet (125 m) above sea level
Bordering States - Virginia, Maryland

Origin of the Name Washington, District of Columbia - The name Washington was to honor the first president of the USA, George Washington. The name Columbia is in reference to Christopher Columbus.
Nickname - D.C.
Official Motto - "Justia Omnibus" - Justice for All
Official Song - The Star-Spangled Banner, words by Francis Scott Key

I mean the "Official Motto" of the city is "Justice" for All.
So after seeing that I do think a bit higher of that suggestion.

I REALLY dislike Monuments, which is apparently a favorite of Ted's. I'd much rather just keep Wizards. I'm fine with the uniform and logo upgrade.

Makes me think of AKA. Make the team colors pink and green?

The Magic and Heat broke that barrier.

The Washington Networks. Get it - Networks? Or Network? Oh yeah! <kidding>

They need to stop trying to shoehorn govt. or military themed names for DC teams.
