Don't forget Rage: 09/13/11

It might look like a Borderlands rip-off, but id Software announced it and showed a trailer in 2007 (more likely that Borderlands took ideas from Rage).

..and Arkham City: 10/18/11

Yeah, I wasn't too sure on the Mass Effect 3 release date. A lot of the websites I checked were showing something different.

Rage & Arkham City should be good ones as well.

For that list up there....Zelda: Skyward Sword should be releasing in November as well. Not sure if we have any Wii other gamers here but it should be great.

I need a PS3 for UC3. And Dark Souls. No way I'm buying Skyrim, though, as it's guaranteed to be janky as hell at the release. I've been gaming behind the curve lately, and things like that are nice. After the hype level goes down I can see if games are actually good or not and there's less bugginess in big titles. Also stuff is cheap.

It's alright. It's free-roaming, like GTA, and you hunt monster (hence, the name) with swords and guns and other crazy stuff. The monsters are varied, there's dinosaurs, dragons, mammals, everything, and when you kill them you can skin them to make armour that you can then sell.

There's no real story though, at least in the two I got. It also gets really tough to get through it on your own, as you need more than one person to take on the 90 foot bosses.

So, yeah, it's alright, but its definitely more of a "Japanese" game and not something a lot of western people would like.
Playing online makes the game crack. Like, for the Demon's Souls fans here, it's like that.

I don't think there's a series that's really similar to MH. You start out a hubs world, pick quests, such as "hunt X monster,", or "capture x monster,", stuff like that, and get sent to different locales to do the missions. When you do said things you get rewarded with items So if you killed a velociraptor you might get a velociraptor hide or tooth or something. You then mix these things together in combinations to make armor, weapons, etc. It's kind of similar to an RPG except that you don't level up, per say, your armor/weapons just get better as you fight increasingly bigger/stronger monsters

Every weapon plays differently and it certainly isn't a forgiving game. So when you take on a new monster you'll more than likely get your ass handed to you, but over time you learn their patterns and it becomes easier. Think Punch Out!!

I dunno I just love the game. Myself, my coworkers and a few of my friends played the hell out of the Wii version. Online is the only way to go for that one.

The only downsides I can think of are that its incredibly addicting and there's a bit of a learning curve. The game certainly didn't click for me until I had played for a few hours. After that though it was golden

Is LA Noire worth purchasing NOW or is it one of those games that's worth the wait when is drops in price?

While I don't have it, from what I've heard it's a rent or wait game. It's very single player focused, and even though there's free-roaming you can't really do much, so there's not much to do after you beat it.

When you're done with the game all you can do is drive around or play the story over again since their are different outcomes? I wonder if there's stuff you can do on the side?

Overall, the game looks great but it's not a must have for me yet. I'm a patient person so I can wait, unless it's for GTA, then I go and get it at Midnight.

the only time I ever plug in my Wii is when we entertain guests. So I don't think I've plugged it in since we got pregnant, so going on 8 months since it was even plugged in? Had the Wii come out when I was like 6ish, I'd probably play it all the time, now that i'm 26, I just want to recline.

I think the only one of those game I'm getting on release is Elder Scrolls. Batmans can wait, I have a feeling it'll be like AA where the game of the year is the best deal.

Agreed, Elder Scrolls is the one I'm really anticipating.

There's a heap of 'street crimes' you can do on the side, and there's hidden vehicles and landmarks you can unlock if you're into that stuff. I'm only about 30% through it, but the story is quite long and you miss quite a few clues and leads, so I think it would be worth going back and re-doing cases. I've loved it so far so I'd suggest buying now.

Eh...There's a heap of quality titles that don't require you to get up and play. I don't remember the last time I had to actually get up off the couch.

I played MH with this

So no movement was required

But I see what you're saying if you're looking for 3rd party blockbusters

Ugh no PS store yet. Unless the Sony employees are out slaughtering the people that did this I don't see why it's taking so long. Why don't they bring in outside help if they can't handle it in a timely fashion?

Coffee, Darko Souls is also coming to the 360 so if you don't have a PS3 by then, you can still play it.

As far as L.A. Noire is concerned. The story does seem fairly long, I'm on the final disc in the 360 version and I have put some time into the game. The replay value is on the lower end because once you do beat it there doesn't seem like there will be a lot to do. As mentioned there are about 40 street crimes you can stop and some collect ables. There are no stores, mini games, or other distractions though.

I plan to play the game again to try to ace all my investigations and then maybe a third time to fail miserably and see the outcome. Still, with the interrogations being unskippable, it doesn't seem like it will be the most rewarding replay. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase but I don't think it would kill you to wait for a price drop or a rent. It's a great title but the replay value isn't there for most.

I wish they would let you flat out fail more cases more easily becasue that would compel you to go back. If you could make huge mistakes and a fail a bunch of cases, the game would have some more dimensions to explore.

Weak man. I really want to see what this store is all about and try some demos. I don't even care about the online play but not having access to the store and its content bothers me. I want to see what's out there.

Thanks for the heads up on Dark Souls, dude. The only thing holding me back from buying it on 360 is that I hate paying for Live ($60 bucks ugh), so waiting for a possible PS3 price drop might be worth it over time. The 360 used to have so many advantages to the PS3--the library, the online service, etc. Not so much anymore.

And that's too bad they're taking forever to get the store up. At least you know they're trying to make it as secure as possible

Having just got a PS3, I got to say, so far the online doesn't even seem close. It took me two hours to get all the downloaded/setup to play MGS online. The fact that updates can take more than 30 minutes, in some cases an hour+ is ridiculous. They really need to streamline some of this crap. Coming from live it just seems a little absurd to put up with this stuff.

I've noticed that PSN isn't working right at the moment. I think it's carry over from the recent issues.
