Damn! I missed the rapture!

Why is that that we're all still here, but Millier is not.
Is he the only guy here worthy of the rapture? I blame JWiz for this turn of events.

I think Miller was the one who told God that Lucifer stole his spicy buffalo wings. Look what happened to him.

Re: Happy End of the World!!!
I heard that Miller snitched to God about the rest of us.
Just to correct the original post, technically May 21 was NOT the scheduled end of the world. It was a judgement day -- the rapture. The end of the world is still scheduled for October 21, 2011 (I think).

So between May 21 and October 21, there will be people stewing because they weren't chosen and now have five months to kill, thinking about their sins, and then they are destroyed? And then on October 21, they find that their sin was merely foolishness? Hmmm.
Maybe they need a less seat-of-the-pants approach. Perhaps someone can design some advanced metric measures to aid in predictability?
Or maybe no one really believes this, and it's just a marketing fad?

Re: Happy End of the World!!!
Nah, people believe this. And they actually used (sorta) advanced metrics. From info on their website:
Noah's Flood happened in 4990 BC. There's some scripture or other saying that the end of the world would be 7000 years from Noah's flood. And, there are other scriptures saying one for the Lord is like a thousand years (and vice versa).
So, the formula for finding the Official End of the World date is 4990 + 7000 - 1 = 2011. (You have to subtract the 1 because there's no year zero.) The method for arriving at the specific dates reminded me of adjusted +/-. Something about Jewish calendars and "other stuff."
But yeah, people really believe this stuff, even though there are scriptures saying no man can know when the end will come. I've been thinking maybe a quarter seriously about putting up an "End is Nigh" website to see how much I could rake in. Probably would have to wait awhile to get past this guy's prediction. Except, of course, it could all be over on October 21.

.
If the world is now supposed to end on October 21, 2011, then what the heck.
I'm gonna stop obsessing over who the Wizards are gonna draft next month.

I'm curious where you came up with that.
My own understanding is that the basis for Noah's flood may well have
been the breaching of the land bridge btw the Mediterranean and the
Black Sea which before the breach was about 600 feet lower than
than Med. I forget the approx year this happened. That it did happen
is relatively well established science. Whether this historical event
was the basis for Noah's flood is conjectural.

I didn't come up with it at all. Whoever the guy was who "calculated" the end of the world came up with it based on something or other. I was a little curious about his reasoning so I skimmed his site. I didn't exactly scrutinize how rigorous his process was.
