9 game World Series?

Post#1 » by LLcoleJ » Thu May 17, 2007 2:12 am

Scot Boras ( the agent) proposes a 9 game world series? wtf?

Is that for him and his clients to get more money? That is over doing it abit..

I know they had like 8 or 9 games series back in the 20's but that was with fewer teams and different times..

I think this is a lame suggestion from the lame agent..

I do not like that idea at all and do not think it will ever happen.

I think it should... if theres a 5 game series for the first round, there should be 9 in the final round... the MLB is robbing us of baseball*!

* this spoof was in no way similar to Mitch Hedberg's take on Kit Kat robbing their consumers of chocolate.**

**ok, maybe it was a little bit.

How is Scott Boras a lame agent? Because you don't like him?

Good reason...he does his job better than anyone I can think of.

he's great at getting his players money, no doubt about that... but thank God he's not the commissioner.

If you lesson the season than it could happen. Too much stress on pitchers especially your top 2 starters.

Yes, thats how it works. I think he is lame , therefore I call him lame.

You can disagree and thats cool. Then I will ask you why do you think he is a non-lame agent? Because you said so?

Also, what reason would non-lame agent have to ask that the world series be 9 games?
Its not for the integrity of the game is it? Nope

Its because he wants more money for his clients which means ... more money for him. = lame.

He might be a brilliant agent and getting his clients the money.. but to want to change the game to benefit him?

lame

Yeah, they do... there's a bonus clause for reaching the playoffs in most contracts, as well as performance clauses in the playoffs... there's still a nice chunk of money to be had, not to mention that the bonus clause for the WS could be raised if there were 9 games instead of 7.

I think he's a "non-lame" agent because he's the greatest at his job. His job is to get players and himself paid. That's his job.

And I hate to break your heart...but if the World Series went to 9 games...the integrity of the game probably wouldn't even be touched.

He would NOT make more money off of a 9 game World Series though...players don't get bonuses for each game they play in the post season, they get bonuses for making the post season, and then probably another one for making the World Series...but not by each game they play.

I'm not going to hate Boras for doing his job and doing it well.

Oh no.. dont break my heart....

What reason would super sports agent Scott Boras have to want the world series to go 9 games? huh? ... money would be my guess. You have any suggestions?

He might be a great agent that gets his clients all the money in the world...I still think he is a snake.
When you have teams that avoid drafting Boras's clients because he will screw them if they dont get the money they "expect" there is something wrong there. If you have teams that really dont want to deal with him because he will say .. " well the Yankees will pay it" takes away from the game. IMO

Drew Rosanhaus is a good agent but he is a snake. He will have his player sit if he doesnt get the money he thinks he deserves. Al the while not honering the contract they orginally signed.

This takes away from the game. If you want to go start a Scott Boras appreaction thread.. have at it.

I will stick to my orginal post and say he is lame.

Oh and what would be the reason he would want the WS to go 9 games?

``The key to this is the business dynamic,'' Boras said. ``We need to embrace corporate America.''

DUN DUN DUN!

Its like having 3 different birthday parties to get the most presents.
