I see another Bruce Bowen/Anthony Parker type of player in David Lighty. Sleeper alert!

Hopefully Utah feels the same way. Smith's rationale was not very insightful. It just seemed like a long-standing preference.

Why do we want Utah to feel the same way? Don't we want Knight lol.

Did anyone already post today's Draft Buzz from Aran Smith?

http://www.nbadraft.net/draft-buzz-combine-edition

Interesting piece:

"The Kemba-Knight debate

The panel of commentators debated this one. In my opinion, it's not even close, it's Brandon Knight in a landslide. What Knight did as a freshman was more than what Kemba did as a sophomore and his size and length gives him a huge edge.

In fact, Knight was widely rated above Kyrie Irving by recruiting analysts until the end of their senior years in high school. And unlike "some analysts" that reported Knight could fall into the second round during the season, we've remained high on him all season and rating Knight as the second best point guard prospect all along.

Knight vs Irving is probably a more legitimate debate and I think a case could be made for Knight. He won more in high school and is more proven at the college level. Sure Knight struggled early, but he was an elite prospect throughout highschool and has the type of character and killer instinct what will insure success in the NBA"

he he, neither.

I just wanted to call you racist and see how you react. Torontonians are very self-conscious and panic when they're labelled anything undesirable, so it's fund watching them squirm trying to convince people otherwise.

He has those key "tools" to be an absolute pest in the NBA for his opponents. This kid measured in at 6'5.5" in shoes with a 6'9.5" wingspan. He also weighs in at 222 pounds. He would be able to guard 3 spots as well.

Let's compare this to the 6'1" tall Rajon Rondo who has a 6'9" wingspan and weighs 175 pounds.

Shumpert averaged more free throw attempts and steals than Rondo.

Yea Youngblood I agree with you :(

If possible I'd try my best to get 3 more mid-late first rounders (might be crazy). One for Shumpert, the other for Darius Morris and the third for Kenneth Faried. Both Shumpert and Morris can play 2 or even 3 positions while providing the ball handling and court vision of a point guard with the defense of a wing. If BC likes versatility show us with those two! As for Faried, dude's just a beast and momentum shifter with his energy. Every team would love to stack up on those guys.

Did you just agree with yourself?

Jazz fans pressuring front office to take Jimmer? This could impact Knight going to us.

BYU star Jimmer Fredette is the state of Utah's most popular basketball player, and he may be taking his talents to the state's NBA team, the Utah Jazz.

The fans want Jimmer to be taken by the hometown Jazz, and he said the following in an NBC Sports article from May 23, “That’s what the people want,” Fredette said of being drafted by the Jazz. “But I don’t think (Jazz officials) should make the decision on what the people want. "

Jazz fans may have to pick Fredette based on the wants of their fans. After trading superstar point guard Deron Williams back near the trading deadline, the Jazz need a new face of their franchise.

Fredette won't be a superstar in his rookie season, but he could be the face of the franchise in a state that adores him.

Utah has the number three overall pick, and will certainly not use that pick to draft Jimmer. With Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams likely to be off the board when Utah drafts, the Jazz will be the team who decides the rest of the order.

They may take center Enes Kanter, or Kentucky point guard Brandon Knight.

The Jazz don't pick again until number twelve, which is where many feel Fredette will be waiting for them to draft.

They arent going to take Knight&Jimmer would they? I feel like Kanter/Jimmer is their combo on draft day and one of Millsap/Jefferson is moved.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

If there's one thing the Jazz front office doesn't get it's pressure. They'll take who they want at 3 and probably pick up The Jimmer at 12.

well would they pick Knight at #3 and pick Jimmer at #12? I doubt it. They love the college players with experience (Jimmer) and the fact hes a star in the city already it will help draw fans in. I think a lineup of

Harris / Jimmer
Hayward / Bell
Millsap / SF
Favors / Okur
Jefferson / Kanter

isnt all that crowded. They played Millsap at the 3 during the end of the season and might be grooming him for that spot. If not i could see him or Jefferson moved for that SF.
