Anyone think Greg Oden is worth a look?

Post#1 » by rennytwentyone » Tue May 24, 2011 6:02 pm

I know he has the knees of a 75 year old running back, but is anyone interested in acquiring him on the cheap?

He won't be cheap. Portland will match qualifying offer sheets.

Exactly what I was going to say. With one of the richest men in the world owning the team, and a fanbase that has been waiting for years to see Oden produce, I don't think MIN can afford to make a good offer, risking assets in trade or even a high salary, for a guy that's unlikely to produce.

If the circumstances were different, he'd be a nice high-upside candidate that Kahn likes. However, we can't get him cheap or short-term.

I love Oden, and if he ever stayed healthy he'd be right after Howard IMO.

I would at least try.

If it doesn't work you can at least say you tried.

He won't be available at the price that I'd pay.
