Delonte West or Jordan Farmar?

I was looking over salaries and ways to get quality players without breaking the bank. I ran into Delonte West and his rather small contract for this past season, in which he only made $1.07 million. When healthy his play on the court was pretty good. He's pretty fearless, plays good defense, creates his own shot, and is just a good all-around player.

Farmar is a decent backup PG but he has 2yr/$8.25 million left on his deal. Who would you rather have?:
West or Farmar

Personally, I think West's talent per dollar value definitely exceeds that of Farmar's. IMO, trading Farmar for a future 2nd round pick and picking up West for a 2 year/$4-5 million deal would be a small, but good move for the Nets.

Ill take Delonte over Farmar 10 times out of 10. Whats he gonna do sleep with Brook Lopez's mother?

West, was only hindered because of his bi-polar fiasco.

When this dude was on the Cavs he was a key piece to those two 60+ win seasons, he was deadly.

How do we know that West is a cancer in the locker room? We know that Boston runs a tight ship so he wouldn't have been able to do anything but even in Cleveland, he was a significant part of their back-to-back 60 win teams. I don't see how he was cancerous then. Plus, I don't really see guys messing with D-Will's team. If you do, there'd be a dodgeball coming at your forehead at 110mph!

People make assumptions about Delonte based on off court stuff.

The only true NBA downside I see to Delonte is that he is always hurt. Misses 30 games a year by average.

But player for player...Delonte is a much better player than Farmar. I have always felt Delonte was one of those glue bench guys you would love to have. When he is playing healthy...not just coming back from soemthing but in his groove you always notice his impact on a game.

Unfortunately, that is all we have is his history of messing with teamates moms driving with a trunk full of guns. No doubt he can play ball and yes he is better than Farmar but with a new crew of teamates I wouldn't run that risk. Last time i check we are not Celtics.
