Thompson looks great. Extremely athletic and doesn't look out of shape like the reports of his 16% body fat suggest.....maybe he's been dropping weight with the workouts.

Someone is gonna get a player with him.

I must admit, I kinda like Marshon Brooks. I wouldn't say he's my pick, but he seems to be projected too late in this draft.

My bad. Must have mistaken him or misread that.

Edit- It was Trey Thompkins who had 15.5%.....the same as Cousins the year before.

From a HoopsWorld chat with Jonathan Givony:

max in ohio:
I've recently read that the Cavs have Valanciunas (or like we in cleveland call him Big V) higher on their board than Kanter. Have you gotten the same vibe?

Jonathan Givony:
Yes. Directly from Kanter's camp in fact.

It's ongoing, so why not pepper with Raptors questions?

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

It really depends on whether Utah wants to get a guard or a big with that earlier pick imo. Are they more comfortable sticking with Harris, or Millsap/Jefferson?

Givony thinks Biyombo is the most NBA ready big in this draft, other than maybe Marcus Morris.

Interesting.

well i just think they pick Jimmer at 12. Thats been my stance for a while. Hes a star in that city and is a huge ticket draw and Harris is a pretty darn good PG himself. I also think Millsap/Jefferson have more value than Harris meaning they could fill their voids with that.

Jonathan, is Biyombo NBA-ready, i.e. will he be able to start on opening night (whenever that is)? If not, how close is he?

Jonathan Givony:
I think he's more ready than any of the other big men in this draft (http://www.draftexpress.com/rankings/2011-Big-Men/), except for maybe Marcus Morris.

Biyombo a major reach for the Raptors at #5?

Jonathan Givony:
I don't think so, no. All the guys who are in that 3-10 range have very clear strengths and weaknesses. More than any other year I can remember really. If you like one guy more than the other and he clearly fits your needs, I say go ahead and take him. I've spoken with Bryan and I know he feels exactly the same way (not necessarily about Biyombo, but about that philosophy with this class)

Not crazy to think Biyombo is the most NBA ready big.
If you are expecting offense from him, definitely not, but I don't think any team that picks him expects him to contribute offensively other than grabbing some offensive rebounds anyway. He's probably the farthest thing from a complete player but I don't see him as a raw player for that reason.

Why don't we just re-sign Evans and draft someone who can actually help us out offensively or fill a real need?

AKA Kanter/Val to help at Center or Knight/Kemba at guard or even Leonard at SF (last choice of the bunch).

Evans is a rebound vacuum and he is the 'glue guy'. I'm not sure why we would cut him just to gamble on Biyombo.
