I think Tristan has JSmith capabilities. I give the edge to him over Faried.

With our 2nd I'd really love to draft JTyler (6'11", 260), he has DeAndre Jordan potential, and is viewed as a project. We have plenty of room to develop a b/u PF/C, even if we resign Foster.

nbadraftexpress.com has posted measurements from the pre-draft camp:

People make more fuss about this stuff than it's worth, but it's still interesting to see the actual measurements.

Tristan Thompson is a little taller than people thought...he is currently at the top of my wish list for the Pacers, if he is still available at #15 (I have my doubts that he will be). He would probably need some time to develop, but he is all kinds of athletic and might be the kind of frontcourt player the Pacers currently lack.

Faried is up there too. And I'm getting more interested all the time in Justin Harper. 4 pct. body fat! Good size, good conditioning, and he can shoot the ball...never hurts to add someone like that.

^ I agree. But i really doubt he'll slip off the lottery.

Justin Harper could be special, and many people think so. Some even compared him to a young Rashad Lewis at best.

Compared to an overrated and coincidentally overpaid 3point shooting big guy? 1) How is that special? 2) I'll pass.

1) Haven't you seen Rashad Lewis play way back in his Seattle days? He's a joke now, yes. But way back then, he's something. Back then he was deserved to be paid more, but not for something he has now. And why would you expect Harper to turn out to be as overrated and overpaid as Lewis???

2) Yours is not even a question. If he's available at 42, would you pass on him? Picking him at 15 would be a big reach, but if we plan to trade down the end of the first round or early second, he could turn out to be more serviceable than the others.

In his seattle days, he was nothing more than a second banana who had a brilliant contract year. Obviously i dont expect him to end up being paid and rated like Lewis was, but you think he can be like Lewis which is not exactly a huge vote of confidence given how Lewis has underperformed. 8-)

He put up 16.6 ppg over his 9 years in Seattle on pretty effective shooting, especially from long-range. I mean, that's pretty darned close to what Danny has put up in his career. Rashard wasn't just a one year guy. I think people forget he was a pretty dynamic young player, now that he's older and has a huge contract attached to him. I think 32 teams in this league would kill to have a young Rashard Lewis on their roster.

Rashard was good, but Pacers dont really have a spot for that type of player. Unless Bob moves to backup Center full time. Then maybe there are some minutes behind Tyler/Danny. Personally, Ide rather leave Bob as a backup PF and small lineup C and go get a young 7 footer than a lengthy backup shooter.

Rashard was most effective as a 3, I always felt.

at this point we can't assume that McRoberts will be back. someone else may give him an offer that we can't logically match.
