From Spurs Nation:

Does this trade make sense?
Toronto sends:
Bargnani + Jose Calderon + Alabi
Spurs sends:
Tony Parker + Tiago Splitter
Trade ID #5890697
This gives Jose and Bargnani and Parker all a fresh start. Splitter is an interesting prospect who can at the C spot.

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
What if we expanded it to include Bonner and Kleiza??
Works on the trade machine
Parker, Splitter, Bonner
For
Bargs Jose Kleiza
I would piss myself if we could do that.

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
just read the same article, and I'm not sure the Spurs would take 1 crappy defender, let alone two crappy defenders as you are suggesting.
Also, I don't think Tony Parker is the right PG for this team. That trade would give us a back court of DD and Parker; two players who cannot shoot 3's. It would clog up their game and they would be easy to defend.
I still think Bargnani could be traded for some value, while Calderon to the Lakers is simply destined to happen.

Abso-f***in lutely.
If Toronto even gets a sniff of that deal they make it immediately then hold a carnival in celebration.

If we did manage to do that, I'd want to move Parker for other young assets. At 29, he's kind of old to really be a longterm piece here and fit in with our young core, and will likely add short term wins at the expense of longterm growth.

Actually that's a fine point and one to be considered. The problem is, to whom?
OK then, so:
Bargs, Jose, Alabi to SA
Splitter, Mags and Jennings to Toronto
Parker (filler) to Milly
Would this be the basis for a 3 way? Looks too good to be true for Toronto.

Parker's value is significantly higher than Jennings imo. If we were to move him there in exchange for Maggette, I'd want Jennings+#10 coming back, which I think is fair compensation considering that Parker put up a 20.4 PER this season, and is supremely efficient compared to Brandon. Of course this would only make sense for Milwaukee if they're looking to compete vs. rebuild.
Splitter/(#5-Kanter/Biyombo/Val)
Ed/Amir
(#10-Kawhi Leonard?)/James Johnson/Kleiza
DeMar/Barbosa
Jennings/Bayless

Thats a tough one but knowing how much Bargs makes, I dont think we could swing that. And Asik is pretty high in chicago. Taj will be a good trade chip. Great worker and charachter guy.

Edit: didn't see Jennings, my bad.

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
I posted this on the trade board..
Toronto gets: Flynn, Pekovic
Minnesota gets: Calderon, Varejao, S-Jax, #9
Cleveland gets: Carroll, Tolliver, #2
Charlotte gets: Webster, Ridnour, #4
Toronto gets younger at two positions of need. Bayless/Flynn is a good PG rotation and Pek is a solid backup C.
Minnesota drops from #2 to #9 but gets "win now" players in return. This would give them a solid lineup of:
Calderon/Rubio
S-Jax/Ellington
Johnson/Beasley/Randolph
Love/Beasley/Randolph
Varejao/Darko
Cleveland moves up to get the best two players in the draft. They'd have to go with Tolliver and Erdin at C but a core of Irving, Williams, and Hickson is a great way to start a rebuild.
Charlotte gets a legit backup PG, a rotation wing and #4 for S-Jax. Not a bad haul. Flynn and Ridnour could be switched but I think TOR would prefer Flynn.

I don't think Minnesota is any way shape or form close to being in a "win now" position

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
I think Sacramento is one of the best fits for Calderon.
Udrih, #35, #60 for Calderon
or
Udrih for Calderon, Barbosa
First one just gives us two small assets but I'm a fan of those, and I think 35 in this draft could be pretty good value, it's deep with rotation players. Second one would be if the Maloofs are cheap as hell and don't want to take on any long term salary before they sell. So instead of signing Thornton or Dalembert, they do this trade to meet the floor.

Something like Boozer + Gibson + Asik + Picks for Bargnani + Barbosa could be worked out. Maybe Chicago sends Boozer to a 3rd team though since Toronto doesn't need him. Maybe someone like Orlando or Washington.

what about moving Udrih to a team that needs a backup (MIL, POR, Etc.)
To TOR: Dooling + Ersan (waived) + Brockman
To SAC: Calderon
To MIL: Udrih + #30

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Bayless + Bargnani to SAC for Garcia + 7
Draft Biyombo at 7.
Sign Thad Young to an offer sheet; once signed, instruct Young to work on that 3-ball.
Get Amir and Ed to bulk up to 235-240 lbs
Knight
DeRozan
Young
Davis
A. Johnson
Calderon
Barbosa
Johnson
Biyombo
Call it a offseason.
We win 22-25 games due to an inept offence, poor spacing, etc., but it won't matter once we lock in a top 5 pick in an excellent draft.
