Free Agents who do you think will help us ?

Post#1 » by dozencousins » Mon May 16, 2011 7:18 pm

I want the Kings to go after M.Gasol more so than trying to keep Daly .
Gasol was making 3 + million last season were as Daly was making 12 + Million .
With the Grizz resigning players to massive contracts Conely , Gay & Randolph the Grizz in the end might have a very difficult time resinging Gasol .
If it were me being mr. g.m. I would though out an offer of 14-16 million or so to get him yes thats more than Daly made but IMO are far better player . This allows Cousins to be a PF & C wich he basically already is & JT to be the PF . IMO a far better bigs situation & to lock Gasol a franchise type player who is young would be huge for us .

I think going after Gasol would be risky. The Grizzlies seem kinda committed right now to being a solid franchise so it would seem like it would be hard to pry him away from them.

And if we go after him first, Sam could be like "Fine. I'm out." Then we'd lose Sam too, and that would really hurt right now.

Gasol to me is not really risky at all . Yes the Grizz are committed to being good but if you cant afford all your key players then something has to give .
I am not saying we will be able to pry him away but if we did then Kudos to us . We would have to overpay . IMO overpaying for him would be well worth it . Somewhere somehow down the line the Kings will have to overpay on someone he would be ideal IMO .
Yes I say overpay to everyone because realistically SAC is not the place were most players prefer as the lime life in SAC is not overall as good as say Miami , L.A. , ORL etc. were the entertainment aspect is their etc. So the Kings will have to over pay .

The Kings Must be good next year I emphasize must we have less than a year to not only get the arena deal done but to be good enough to draw even more support by all of Sacramento to get people filling the arena . Next year will be the most important out of any year because for us its a matter of keeping our Kings or the Maloofs & the NBA saying see ya to us .

We must as an organization pull out all the stops to do everything in our power to support our team , go to games , watch on t.v. & get great players that will fit into our team & win games . & of course get the arena deal done & have the NBA sign off on it !

Aside from Gasol IMO through the draft or free agency our 2 biggest needs by position is the small forward & point guard positions . Unless we lost out on Daly & couldnt get a GASOL or blockbuster trade of D.HOWARD then I would say a big man is our biggest need though my 1st round draft pick would be a point guard.

Gasol is a good player, but I'd much rather the Kings go after Nene if he's available and if not, try and retain Daly. With the makeup of this team I think both of those guys would have a much bigger role on the team than Gasol would.

Gasol, Nene centers like that. I also think a Prince or Battier would do wonders if we drafted Williams if not i'll take Chandler at SF

Re-sign Thornton, re-sign Dally, go after Prince first battier second, draft in this order either: Irving, Williams, Kanter, or Knight (if none are left trade down and pick either Walker or Burks). Then call it a day.

Woof, sign Humphries for how much? I have fears about the Kings going after someone like Humphries. No thanks.

Don't forget what happened the last time the Kings signed a Nets role player coming off a decent contract year. :o

Sign Kirilenko. He is the perfect fit for us. He is experienced he has a huge skill set he can play inside or outside and is a great passer and shot blocker. I would love to add him to our roster, I think he would actually bring us a lot of wins because of how well he fits into the roster.

I would also like to see us sign Josh McRoberts his mix of toughness and 3pt shooting would be a huge help for our roster.

Play it safe.

Draft K. Leonard (huge wingspan 7''3" and large hands - comparable to centers)

Re-Sign Dalembert for 3 years 7 mil per year (slightly higher than MLE, and for a C who will average 8 and 8 and a few blocks, its very reaonable)

Re-Sign Thornton for 5 years at 6 million per year (this could be a steal)

I would throw some money on maybe another shooter like Vujacic, Delonte West even.

Eh, wouldn't be my first choice but he's turned into a really good spot shooter/defender. I think the Bulls are going to go after him too. He certainly fits the model of what Petrie goes after, former Kings killer turned King. A little small for the spot however. I think it's going to be real hard to go wrong in filling that SF hole, some options in the draft and a ton in free agency.

The Grizzlies are not just give the heart of their team away like that. Michael Heisely already told Z Bo he would be resigning Gasol and he wouldn't trade Allen after everything he has brought to the team.

Well, with Thornton it's going to come down to what other teams offer. He's restricted so he'll go out and get the best offer he can and then the Kings can choose to match it or not. Hopefully the only teams that go after him are the ones restricted to using the MLE. He would be perfect for Chicago so hopefully they go after him and the Kings get a potential 20, 4, and 4 player for the MLE!!! 8-)

Of course this is all dependent on the new CBA being similar.

Dally only plays for his pay-check. Once he gets his money, he just does not give a ****.Ask any Philly fan.

I do not want to see Dally in SAC next season. I would rather play with JT/Cousins and try to develop Hassam. If we cannot get a PG in the draft, we can get a big.

Return to Sacramento Kings
