^ No, Jajwanda made a solid try on this one and honestly I could see the Pistons doing the deal as they are desperate to get out of those bad Charlie V and Gordon contracts ... I think we'd have to give a couple of our 2nd rounders to the Pistons though.

My only issue is with Kenyon Martin playing C ... not a good idea.

He won't. Gasol or Bynum will.

so most people over on the T&T board agreed with the trade i posted:

Ebanks + future first for Gibson

Cavs get a wing, lakers get a shooter.

i love this deal, especially with brown as our coach.

this is not even close to being true. caracter has some value, early second/late first type of value, and blake is a solid backup PG. but since PG is such a deep position in the league, nobody is going to be gunning for him. but they both have value. even ebanks has good value.

walton, well.... 2 years from now he'll have value.

Would you rather have him or Sessions? Remember Fisher is probably going to play. With Sessions you have a guy big enough to guard SGs or PGs with Fisher guarding the suckier player. Heck anyway we can acquire both of them?

PG- Fisher
SG- Sessions
SF- Barnes
PF- Odom

no, sessions is far too ball dominant and a pretty bad shooter. id rather we just tried our luck with the MLE for a PG, or started Blake.

Gibson is a KNOCK DOWN shooter, a decent defender and hes only 24. he's already had a season with 60+ TS%, and brown is comfortable with him as well.

I wasn't saying start Sessions I was saying design the backups around him. With Odom, Fisher, and Barnes moving off the ball Sessions would be far more dangerous than Gibson. He'd take Shannon Brown's spot creating plays off of the pick and roll. He's not a bad shooter from the mid-range also so if he's off the ball he'll be in one of the corners about 18 feet out (place where Rondo often **** up, Sessions will hit that)

gibson with sessions would be the 2010/2011 Cavs backcourt, which is DO NOT WANT.

we dont need a ball dominant PG like sessions who cant shoot the 3. gibson is perfect off the ball and isnt terrible with it. sessions WOULD NOT be far more dangerous than gibson. you can help off of sessions with bynum in the post or a kobe drive. you cant do the same with gibson, because he is a career 41% 3 pt shooter. he's young, has played with brown, and can shoot. if we can get sessions as a throw in, fine. but i would not give up anymore than ebanks + future first to get sessions + gibson, and if i had the choice on only one, it would be far and away gibson.

we need shooting. gibson gives us that and a little bit more as he is young and can play good D.

if the MLE still exists, id rather throw it at Ronnie Price or offer Tmac the vet minimum then pick up sessions.

Tmac/blake/fisher
kobe/gibson
artest/barnes
gasol/odom
bynum/kmart

is what i would like to see if no one is traded (besides the gibson deal)

only way to get Sessions or Gibson is via trade. Sessions isn't available till 2012.

Might as well put this here also.

Available FAs for 2011-2012 season. Includes combo guards:

Jamal Crawford
Delonte West
Carlos Arroyo
Anthony Parker
Jose Juan Barea
Tracy McGrady
Acie Law
T.J. Ford
Mike Bibby
Eddie House (P)
Earl Boykins
Sebastian Telfair
Sasha Vujacic
Marcus Banks
Willie Green
Anthony Carter
Roger Mason
Chris Quinn
Leandro Barbosa (P)
Ronnie Price
Earl Watson
Larry Hughes

Anyone appealing from that list?

You don't need Sessions to have that three point ball if other players have it. Forget Session in the starting lineup. He's not there. I've listed a lineup I know you won't like but I think would be very effective:

Odom for Anderson+Nelson

PG- Nelson
SG- Bryant
SF- Artest
PF- Gasol
C- Bynum

Is just about perfect. Flat out it's really really good especially with Nelson off of the P and R. Now the bench:

PG- Fisher
SG- Sessions
SF- Barnes
PF- Anderson
C- Gasol/Bynum

Anderson is just as good of a rebounder as Odom and that unit spreads the floor for Sessions-Bynum or Sessions-Gasol P and R.

I've improved the shooting plenty by adding Jameer Nelson and instead of Odom at the three-point line it's a dead-eye shooter in Ryan Anderson. Also you can still add a tough veteran big man just in case Gasol is playing like a bitch.

which is why i said apart from the gibson trade...

did you read anything i wrote or... what?

cavs fans seem to be content with ebanks + future first for gibson. i think its a great trade for us. while i like ebanks potential, we need help right now.

from that list im sure JJ Barea, Crawford, and maybe even Carter get resigned.

i like Tmac and Price, and prefer Gibson to the rest. if Parker was younger id include him as well. Delonte is interesting as well.

replace sessions with gibson and i think its very interesting. i dont care for Nelson at all, but some people do.

dont think it would be too bad if those deals went through.

Eric Maynor?

Post#796 » by italianleather » Fri May 27, 2011 1:51 am

Heard that Maynor is a free agent this coming off season. What you guys think of him?

Seems like a pretty reliable back up PG with good, not spectacular, 3-pt shooting.

But if you have Fisher, Gibson, Barnes, Anderson, and Bynum/Gasol who penetrates? If you want Gibson, I suggest making a deal for Salmons so you can play:

PG- Gibson
SG- Bryant
SF- Salmons

you obviously DO NOT play those five at the same time, its not rocket science. i mean you could, but youd just have to force feed bynum/gasol and play off of them ala howard in orlando. id like to think one of nelson/kobe would always be on the floor, and id like us to pick up tmac for the vet as well.

Is he really? Make him a larger offer and they may not match. He's ideal if he puts on 10 lbs.
