Is The Consensus Here Kanter? MIN Willing to Move Down to 3

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Fri May 27, 2011 2:16 am

It should surprise no one that Minnesota is entertaining offers for this pick. Williams is considered by most teams (including Minnesota) to be the best player available after Irving, but it's hardly a fantastic fit. Michael Beasley has a similar skill set, and forward Kevin Love and swingman Wesley Johnson don't appear to be going anywhere. One source says the Wolves have considered moving down a spot or two to take Enes Kanter while getting additional assets in a trade.

Is your board set on Kanter? Im asking this because i feel Knight is the best option for Toronto and would make a nice backcourt with Derozan. I see some split decisions on this board but would you trade up to #2 to get Williams, leaving MIN with Kanter and essentially Toronto with Knight? (unless CLE takes Knight + Irving for some reason).

So would you move up to Williams (at what cost) or would you just stick at #3 and hope he falls?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

i dont know if they think bell is an "asset" but they could use a vet SG.

I wouldn't use assets to move up in this draft. I like all of Irving, Williams, and Kanter about the same. PERFECTLY happy to just take whoever falls.

So, no. No desire to trade. But, if you like the Bell and #3 offer for #2, well, now you have my attention.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

i posted on the trade board something like

Flynn + Ellington + #2 + #20

for

Bell + #3 + #12

i thought if your thinking of Knight might as well get a young PG and at worst hes an expiring contract saving a year off Bells deal. Ellington is a decent SG shooter off the bench which you could use and of course the move to get Williams. I just thought the move from #20-#12 is made up by Flynn + Ellington/Bell swap. Flynn has potential still IMO and would be pretty nice compliment to Harris off the bench.

Harris / Flynn
Hayward / Ellington
Williams / Miles / Evans
Favors / Millsap
Jefferson / Okur

+ #20

I agree, we'll just sit pretty at #3 and take BAP.

There was a thread with a poll and it was 52% Kanter 39% Knight 9% Walker.
