Heat vs. Mavericks player matchups

Post#1 » by Axel » Fri May 27, 2011 5:01 am

How do you guys see the Heat and Mavs matching up one on one? Who should get the playing time for each squad, and what does Spo need to do to not get out-coached by Rick Carlisle?

Mavs probable starters:

PG :: Kidd
SG :: Stevenson
SF :: Marion
PF :: Dirk
C :: Chandler

Miami::

PG :: Bibby - Kidd and Stevenson are less likely to show up Bibby on the defensive end, than Terry and Barea in the second unit. Kidd could post up Chalmers, so he would be better coming off the bench and guarding Barea.

SG :: Wade - Should hopefully have a good series here, since he won't be worrying about containing Derrick Rose.

SF :: LeBron - Shawn Marion is one of the weaker perimeter scorers for the Mavs. LeBron can rotate off of him to help on Dirk if he starts take over.

PF:: Bosh - I think CB can handle himself against Dirk decently well. Hopefully his size and speed will be enough to keep Dirk in front of him most of the time.

C :: Haslem - Chandler is way too big for Anthony. Haslem has a better chance of keeping Tyson off the boards, but still he's probably going to have a good series.

Bench:: I'm hoping the bench will really shine in this series. The Heat could use JJ when Peja is in the game, or Dirk is out. It's great to see MM playing well again too...

Overall .... I like the Heat with homecourt, and a much deeper bench than when they entered. Dallas really would be unbeatable with Caron Butler and Roddy Beaubois though.

Dallas would still lose even if they were fully healthy. It is going to be a good series regardless.

I hope Bosh's attitude stays the same as it was last night -

Should be interesting to see how Bosh plays in his hometown. Hopefully not like Wade played most of the time in his, but hopefully like he played in the final few minutes. :D

Let's keep this in the series thread fellas. Avoid the clutter.
