Mavs vs Heat NBA Finals Threader

Hey guys, Heat fan here. I'm salivating for the Kidd - Stevenson - Marion trio, with then on the floor we can double Dirk everytime that he pick the ball.
On the other hand, JJ - Terry - Marion its a nightmare because NOBODY on the Heat can stay in front of JJ and Terry is NIIIIIC E, I would love to have him in Miami, anyway , good luck !!!

It's nothing about individual matchup. The result of the series is unpredictable. It takes our best to beat them out. It's about hustles and wisdom. That's a big test of our mental toughness.

I think a bit about the game plan. The keys could be:
1. Control the tempo. We need to take care of the ball and dictate the tempo.
2. Energy. We should stay focused and hustles all over the court despite big lead.
3. Stop Penetration. We need to keep them out of the lane.
4. Force them to take contested shots without committing fouls.
5. Clean the board. We should make sure they get only one shot.
6. Ball movement. We should make sure they can't double Dirk all the time.

Again, we're the best in terms of 3 things: (1) We're not solely depending on one guy. Our game is unpredictable. (2) We're the best clutch team. (3) We're loaded with guys hungry for a ring.

Take it one game at a time. Take the bad taste away from our mouth. Play our heart out and gut it out. Go Mavs!

First things first I'd like to congratulate the Miami Heat fans. Many of them have waited since Christmas for a moment like this. Must feel like a lifetime. Douche bags.

Dirk is too bitter, angry and focus to let his team lose. Dallas will in the championship this year congratulations Mavs fans and I'm extremely happy for Dirk. It will 7 game series and I feel Miami will meltdown in game 7 at home.

The great thing about Dirk is he is similar to LeBron in that they are great superstars, but also completely unselfish on the court. They look to make the right basketball plays at all times. I laugh at people who think LeBron is going to shut down Dirk like he did Rose. Dirk is a different player now. I will destroy LeBron just like he did Ibaka.

Bosh should not get disrespected. Boozer/Gibson did so and got schooled.

Dirk owns Chris Bosh. I know Miami fans don't know this cuz they're brand new basketball fans, but the Mavs at one point owned a near 20 game win streak on Toronto, with Bosh bending over for Dirk.


And thats when Bosh was a good player, and not just a role player.

Miami believes LeBron will stop Dirk, not Bosh. Dirk rapes Bosh, most basketball fans know this. Dirk is an extremely tough match for Bosh.

Going into the series I EXPECT Lebron and Wade to shoot 10 fts a game. I just expect it, what we CAN'T have happen is for them to get around 25+. That will be death. Granted a lot of that is up to the Refs and not the Mavs. Dear NBA, Let Lebron and Dirk decide the game on the court. We don't want another Bennett Salvatore calling a foul on Devin Harris with less than 3 secs on the clock from 50 feet away on the other side of the court. That's all we ask for.



Need to win one of the first 2 in Miami. Must be nice to play in the JV conference and get to play an East schedule to get home court.

I'm a Bulls fan first, Heat and Laker hater second,If the Bulls lose to the Heat , I want the Mavs to win.I hope we can at the very least make Miami go 7 games to help the Mavs out a little, and if we have to go out, go out with pride..

Biggest positive is JJ has someone to guard in this series, Bibby is useless and we'd want Chalmers to pull a "Maynor". That's HUGE for the Mavs.

Key to this series is the Mavs defense.

Since Carlisle loves Barea even though he plays no defense this will be a favorable series for him since he will most likely be able to contain Chalmers and Bibby.

Stevenson/Kidd should be on Wade.

Marion should be the only player defending LeBron since Carlisle won't play Brewer.

DIRK will guard Haslem or whatever Heat C is out there.

Chandler finally has a chance to play better than Haywood. Haywood has been the better C all postseason and now Chandler finally has a matchup better suited for him with Bosh.

I don't agree. The Heat just played two teams that play good defense. When they are getting to the line 1,000 times a game, it diminishes the importance of overall defense. This is the first team the Heat have played in the playoffs that can score at will.

It's a drastic change of styles from what they are used to. The Celtics and Bulls are defensive-oriented teams that can have trouble scoring. The Mavs score whenever, wherever.

In most other sports, good defense beats a great offense. In the NBA though, great offense usually always beats a tough defense. Dirk is unguardable and he unlike the Bulls have other guys who can score. Marion can score 15-20 on any night, Terry can score 20 on any night, Kidd will get you 10-15, Barea will get you 10-15 off the bench.

That pic means nothing to me, there were 3 games in Miami that pic coulda been taking anytime. Go watch the damn video Bennett Salvatore is 50 ft behind COULDN'T SEE devin Harris right side and called a foul on devin for his hand on his side.

Ok Mavs, get prepared for the most fustrating series in your life. Yes, it will be worse than the 'help' Miami got in '06. Not only will Lebron and Wade get to the line if looked at.... but be prepared for the fouls they get away with on the defensive end. (Lebron tripped and slapped Pierce's arm in front of ref... no call. Lebron 'blocked' KG with his off arm using KG's chest for leverage... no call. Can go on and on with examples... but you get the point). Or, the lack of an offensive foul call when they use their shoulders. Any other player in the league and it is an offensive foul. OR, the famous shot fake, defender jumps straight up, and jump into the defender a good 1' - 1'1/2 and get the call.
And lastly, the traveling they get away with!!!! Lebron took 5, yes, 5 steps with the game tied at 84 -84 in game 4 for a 'spectacular' lay-up! This was well documented on the C's board when it happened. This is fustrating to wit's end. This, you will come to learn, combined with their free throws makes it almost impossible.
And you got two of these little bastards (not the best way to refer to that steriod freak) on 1 team.

The world is on your side, even if the NBA isn't. Beat these cHeat! Hell, even if the win, they are chumps and they deserve no respect. Competitor's want to beat the best. Not join the best. I would love a Bloodsport moment during their introductions with everyone turning their back on them. Not a sound in the arena. NOW that would send a message!

The most frustrating series of our life came and went years ago. We'd like to see the Mavs get a ring, and we'd LOVE to see it happen while Dirk is around. That's about it.

I'm wishing this was more fun than it has been so far, but winning a trophy seems like the only thing that matters any more. It's become bigger than life somehow.
