holy crap this is horrible. Rondo is Rondo because he has 3 hall of famers on the team with him. the guy is seriously overrated.
HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO SAY IT.......WE DONT NEED A PG!!!!! EVANS/THORNTON BACKCOURT IS GONNA BE UNSTOPPABLE!!!!
We need a SF.
Not to mention, Boston would NEVER DO THIS!!!!!

Honestly I believe the only players we should consider trading is Casspi & Greene. Our guard rotation is good, our big man rotation is Solid. I believe the biggest improvement for this team will come in signing a SF who can shoot and play D.

Dont get me wrong any player on the Kings roster can be moved. But we finally have balance in the roster, players are settling into their roles, and they can start building chemistry. That will bring improvement in the W column for sure.

I do agree with this. I've said that we should let Casspi and Greene fight it out and let them go through the growing pains. I think if both are comfortable that one mistake or bonehead play doesnt bury them on the bench, they will be more productive. Sign some vet free agents to come in and work hard and show how to behave and act on and off the court and we'll be good.

Id only do it if Evans moves to SF and we sign a stretch four.

Re: CELTICS / KINGS TRADE
both players(rondo and tyreke) need to dominate the ball to be effective and both players cant shot outside. ray allen is perfect backcourt mate to rondo because allen isnt ball dominating player and he can shoot outside, if you replaced ray allen to tyreke evans as rondo's backcourt mate thats the worst backcourt if ever happen.
in papers tyreke/rondo backcourt will WOW you but in real game its DISASTER combination. opponents will use ZONE defense to protect the paint area and force us to shoot outside including tyreke and rondo. thats ugly for us.

Honestly, I question his true "star" ability. When I think of a star the thought of "fit" doesn't even cross my mind, yet, Rondo is the type of player that it does on more than a few teams in the league. I think he's like the most "star" of all the role players and he does all those intangible things that every team needs, but a star? Eh, any team that relies on him to be their best player is going to have problems. Now for the Kings it might not matter but I don't think Rondo is a universal "star" player.

Maybe, Ainge was certainly OK with trading him to the Kings for Evans before the 2009 draft. Maybe an Evans for Rondo deal would be more realistic. Still, I agree with the post above, player to player, I'll just stick with Evans and if this team needs more of what Rondo could bring then give it a shot, but not until then.
You never trade a young player until after at least 3 seasons because after that 3rd year they probably are what they are and you don't have to worry about trading a player that's going to get even better.

I think you guys are under estamating the talent level of Rondo + Tyreke.. They're both young.. if they put in the time .. they can improve their shot... I think the deal is fair - but I dont see why the celtics would offer the kings this trade... Maybe they're banking on an unprotected 2012-13 lottery pick. And maybe they see some talented @ the 7 spot in this years draft worth gambling on.

i kinda agree that rondo is not the brightest of stars out there, but i have to give this kid respect with how he competes and plays with heart...
the fit thing is obviously a concern, but when you are offered for that type of deal you really should take it... its not that we are stuck with him or reke...if they really wont make it work, it gives this team a leverage in trades especially if we are looking to trade for good players with good value...

Re: CELTICS / KINGS TRADE
Oh no question, the dude has the toughness that very few players have in the game. He plays D, he's hustles on every play, and despite his shortcomings he's a dangerous weapon. With that said on the C's side of things, the only thing they'd probably want in return for him is Evans. Ainge tried before the draft and if Evans/Cousins doesn't work, I think looking into a deal for Rondo could be a good idea. At present I wouldn't trade Evans for him, but if the clear need of this team was Rondo and he and Cousins could form an ideal combo then what the heck. Time will tell, but right now I give the thought of Evans for Rondo the big hell no myself.

Celtics fan. No way we trade Rondo, for less than a HUGE haul or a proven star, think at least what you would want in return for tyreke, remember for all his flaws, he is a star.
Here is a more realistic trade though that i think would work for both teams maybe.
Avery Bradley, the 25th pick, and cash for Jason Thompson
I think that's a pretty fair deal for both sides, Bradley is a HIGH potential point guard that is still only 19, plus he was rated ahead of john wall coming out of high school. Made a terrible decision to go play for the worst coach in college basketball or things could be a lot different for him.

Re: CELTICS / KINGS TRADE
The difference is that Evans can at least be the focal point of your attack offensively. Rondo is no where near the offensive player Evans is and he most likely will never be. Rondo simply can't be a teams #1 guy. Great facilitator, but opposing defenses would be laughing all the way to the bank if Rondo was "the guy" on the other end of the floor. Like I said, it would depend on need and that to me does not signify a universally accepted star player.
And even though their lack of jump shooting ability is being compared, Rondo is more sketchy than Evans. Evans takes some bad shots that he shouldn't, Rondo clanks easy shots off the backboard like he's lobbing grenades, hahaha.

I posted this on the trade board and was curious as to what Kings fans would think. I think it's a fair deal, but I also think it depends on how much value you put into the #7 pick.
If Sacramento gave Rondo free reign to just let it all hang out I think he would be an amazing player on a young, athletic, up&coming team.
Be kind. I don't post many trades, but I thought this was intriguing at the least.
Thanks

Rondo's a great PG, but Boston fans need to stop acting like 3 allstars have nothing to do with his success

Re: CELTICS / KINGS TRADE
No way Boston does this.
If I was GP I would take this deal and run, and even throw in Tyreke to get it done. Rondo is an allstar, all-NBA defensive 1st team, and arguably the best passer in the game. Tyreke has been a so-called "star" in the eyes of some homer Kings fans for two years now, and still hasn't learned how to pass on the break.
Rondo
Thornton
SF from free agency (AK47?)
Cousins
Dally
Bradley
Cisco
Greene
J. O'Neal
Whiteside
#25
That's a playoff team and still way under the cap.
Still, no way Boston does this. Even if they decide to blow it up, you don't trade your young stars to rebuild, you trade your old stars.

Yeah, must of fast forwarded into the near future and saw the Celtics in the "rebuild" era with Rondo at the helm!
