Really a must-win series for the Nats. Key against the Pads is really just not being down late, as Mike Adams and Heath Bell are pretty lights out.
Couple of light-hitting teams should make the pitchers look good. John Lannan against Clayton Richard in a battle of lefties tonight; day games the rest of the way.
Gonna be a hot weekend pushing 90 every day, but should be fun. Have Lexus Gold Club tickets Sunday that I was able to get because, well, uh,
It's the Nats/Padres. LOL.

Storen has one killer slider. That pitch should be illegal.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Lannan deserved better. But that walk-off home run by Morse was a no-doubter.
Good feelings all around for the home team.

Fun game, although rain delays REALLY cause me to drink too much...
God, Lannan really deserved better. As did Richard really, they both pitched pretty well even after the delay.
Morse is the entirety of the Nats' offense right now.

Re: Pads (20-30) at Nats (21-28)/Gorzy on DL
JZ versus Tim Stauffer today. I'm hungover, but maybe a beer at the park will fix that.
Gorzelanny on the 15-day DL. Candidates to replace him are Stammen, Maya, and Detwiller. Stammen and Maya have been fine at Syracuse, but not Detwiller (ERA in the high fives).
Nats will need one for Sunday, or pitch Livan on short rest. Sure they'll call up one though.

I believe Balester has been called up. Can't remember.

2-1 Pads in game two. Six total runs for the series seems about right...
Finale has Dustin Moseley, who pretty much sums up the Pads with his 1-6 record but 3.15 ERA, against I am 90 percent sure it's Yunesky Maya.
Must win. The Nats get Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt next.

Nats have their chances but lose to the Padres 5-4 in the finale. Twice in the later innings the Nats had a guy on second with no outs and could not convert.
