If Biyombo is legitimately 18-19 y/o I really don't see any reason why he would be rated lower than any of the C prospects besides Kanter. He reminds me of a better and more defensively minded Reggie Evans. Reggie was a great fit next to Bargnani because of his rebounding and hustle... I think Biyombo can provide the same level of hustle to grab boards with insane shot blocking ability. If we find out this guys as young or younger than the other prospects I think we need to draft him... his defensive potential is off the charts, and he still has a lot of learning to do. He's as good as the other prospects, and he fits a huge need for our team... he could be the Ben Wallace to our version of Rasheed Wallace - which would be Bargnani.

LOL I hear you... there's no way he's anywhere near Rasheed right now... but if you look at our team, he's the only thing that comes close. If Bargs actually played with some fire, I don't see why he can't be... but that's a HUGE if.

If we trade our pick for Asik I'm done with this team.

It's true though, Bargnani is the Raptors version of Rasheed Wallace. And by Raptors version I mean the soft, defenseless, enigmatic version. Soft defenseless even more enigmatic Sheed sounds a lot like Bargnani.

Nah, can you imagine Bargnani doing this?

Neither could I do. Invalid comparison.

Assuming the top 4 are Irving, Williams Knight, Kanter I think I might lean toward Burks at 5. I just don't like to take project bigs with a draft pick this high they seem to have the highest bust rate and I don't really see star potential if the do turn out. I think Burks and Walker both have potential to be good scorers but Burks can play with DeRozan and Bayless whereas Bayless and Walker are totally redunant. We would probably start Johnson and DeRozan next year but we could have Burks back up DeRozan and play some beside him with DeRozan shifting to the 3 spot. Burks would provide Bayless some auxilary ballhandling to relieve some pressure just like Johnson does. I think we would definately need to find a vetern 2/3 who is a good defender and can hit 3's to complete our wing rotation though. I don't think DeRozan spending some time at the 3 spot is that much of a problem in fact I think he does better defending 3's then he does chasing quick 2's around multiple screens.

only Kanter look like a "sure" better prospect than Burks
it's not like we are good enough to draft base on position

as for Biyombo, he's total mystery to me, waiting for more workout

Val is going to struggle for a long time due to his high foul frequency,
and the "Hoffa" or "Bargnani" tragedy is going to happen again

Burks must have had good workouts and what-not, because all of a sudden we are considering him with the fifth pick which we never did until very recently. I`d be happy with the pick. I haven`t seen him play, but I REALLY like the reviews I`ve read. I still hope we can get another lottery pick and maybe snag Biyombo as well. Here`s to Bargs trade value.

I hope we can move up and make a trade with Minny for the number 2 pick... Williams would look great on the Raptors... if Kanter can fall to 5th make a trade to Minny for Williams.

Here's a mix of Davis Bertans that was posted yesterday. I like the idea of acquiring him with a late pick if possible, I think he could definitely help improve our shooting as a legit SF (just 18 too).

In fact I wouldn't mind acquiring 2-3 late picks and taking (Tyler/Nogueira)+Bertans+Selby. I think at the very least, that could be great depth to have off your bench, and a much better investment (especially considering our rebuilding situation) than another mediocre MLE signing.

NYK Forum is having a poll on whom Raptors will draft at 5

I dont think it is only for Knick fans.

I think Cleveland will take Jonas if Kanter is being picked before #4. So I can assume Kanter is gone by the time we draft him. Thus, Kemba or Knight will be in place.
I think if we are drafting Kanter for his influence, I think we should draft Kemba Walker. And I hope we can acquire Bismack, that would resolve a lot of our problem as well.

It sucks that we can't pick Kahwi Leonard.

Him and DeMar next to eachother would be an absolute disaster (kinda like James Johnson and DeMar next to eachother).

The best part about our team is our only certified shooter is our center roflmao.
