First off it's easier to be a good defender when you're surrounded by a cast of all-stars. Secondly, defensive metrics suggest he isn't as good a defender as some of you are making him out to be:

DRating of 115, 113, 112
DWin shares .7, .9, 1.1
PER 14.9, 14.1, 18.5

Yes there are other factors you have to consider when analyzing metrics such as team, pace, etc. Yes he is young and developing his game. And yes he would be a better defender playing on the Bulls team. But currently I'd say he's an average defender at best.

I absolutely refuse to part with Bogans as a part of that deal.

You have to make a stand somewhere or they'll gut your team for 2 all stars.

If they throw in two future firsts, I'd listen.

What if we took on Kaman's contract? He's going to expire next year, adding to our crop of expirings of Korver, Watson, and Brewer. He can't seem to stay on the court in recent years, but when he can he's a legit starting center on both ends of the floor. I could see the Clippers biting on a deal centered around Noah, since he would be an excellent match in the middle with Griffin as a good weakside defender. I hesitate to trade Noah, but if we could add another wing scorer like Gordon and not lose a ton at center with a guy like Kaman (assuming relative health), I pull the trigger.

In the future, we could resign a then-30 year old Kaman if we don't believe Asik is ready to start or use Kaman, Brewer, Korver, and Watson as trade bait or even cap space if Asik proves he can start on a championship team. Something like this trade could do it:

Carlos Boozer on Derrick Rose:
"He's a great penetrator. But, wow ... in one word, all I can say is wow. He's really good."

I love Asik as much as the next guy...but he will never be a starter (on a good team). He has absolutely no offense whatsoever besides a dunk, and half the time he gets blocked or cant even get the shot up.

Forgot about Kaman.

Im sure the offer would have to include him then if they lost DeAndre aswell. They would like Asik aswell.

Anyways, doubt this ever goes down.

"Bulls To Go After Eric Gordon"...

I don't think the Clippers would be that stupid to trade him. Even if they were, we don't have the assets that they want. I know that they traded what ruened to be the #1 pick but, it's a week draft with no LeBron or Blake Griffin or even a surefire #1 pick. But, once again no way the Clippers are that stupid...

Yes. Because the Clippers would deal EG for that. And because the Clippers don't have enought centers in Kaman and Deandre. They REALLY need to trade their leading scorer and best shooter for another center.

Ok. Explain WHY the Clippers would do that. 123, go.

Ah I love the offseason. All the dream threads come out and no matter how ridiculous they you can't help but dream as well. If we ever got Eric Gordon then forget about it, the title is ours.

Dude, relax. The thread is based on a media report and the vast majority of the Bulls posters here said:
- No way is LA going to part with EG
- If they do, we don't got the pieces anyways
A few people tried to rationalize a package and even then, its not like they offered garbage.

Of course its utterly preposterous to think the Clippers would split a potentially contending inside out tandem of Gordon and Griffin, but other than that small detail I'm sure Jason Goff is totally onto something here.

Hey, doesn't Donald Sterling owe JR for some stuff? A few back door deals or so? Isn't that how Vinny got the Job? Maybe JR can pull some strings and get Gordon.

As a Clips fan I hated seeing you guys knocked out. I'm also glad to see you guys realize that Gordon isn't going anywhere. Gordon and Griffin are the future for the Clips and neither one are going anywhere. We think we're one piece away from being a really good team. A starting lineup of Williams, Gordon, Griffin, and Jordan is only a small forward away from being damn good. Then factor in that in a year or two we could start Bledsoe, Gordon, Aminu, Griffin, and Jordan and you'll see how happy we are out here in LA. Throw in the 2012 Wolves pick as the cherry on top. Put this together with the fall of the Lakers and you couldn't have planned this out any better.

Good luck out east you guys and continued success.
