Pistons 8th pick + Rip Hamilton for Chris Kaman??

Post#1 » by Kirsten19 » Thu May 19, 2011 4:37 am

What do you guys think about this trade proposal?

If RIP is not someone u want, how about Ben Gordon??

Draft Biyombo/Valanciunas with the 8th pick i still think u guys will have a very promising frontcourt with Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Biyombo/Valanciunas as core.

U guys may benefit form RIP's expereince and motor

We just gave up an unprotected first round pick(which turned into the #1 pick) to get rid of Baron Davis and his huge contract.

And while Kaman could be had for the right piece, we're certainly not interested in a backup to Eric Gordon(no, Hamilton at SF wouldn't be what we're looking for and Ben Gordon isn't of need at all) and a mid lotto pick in a draft that we just traded out of isn't worth giving up nearly all of our cap flexibility.

I'm sorry, but the Clippers and Pistons don't seem to be good trading partners at this point in time.

Yeah no way the clips consider that trade. Maybe if you were to throw Greg Monroe into it while the clips throw in Aminu/Bledsoe...but i doubt you guys would want to do that

We're looking to trade Kaman for someone of Granger, Iggy, Gallinari's caliber.

I'd take it for Ben Gordon and pick. The Clippers bench is beyond putrid especially in regards to scoring. We also saw the drop off when EJ went down we need insurance with his physical style of play and Ben would be a perfect swap out that would accept the role off the bench.

I'd rather Foye over Ben Gordon.

Why shouldn't he be serious?

Ben Gordon 10/11 stats:
26 mpg/ 11.2 ppg/ 2.4 rpg/ 2.1 apg/ FG% 44.0/3PT% 40.2

Randy Foye 10/11 stats:
24.6 mpg/ 9.8 ppg/ 1.7 rpg/ 2.7 apg/ FG% 38.8/ 3PT% 32.7

Given that either one would be a backup to Eric Gordon(who'll get a big new contract starting in 12-13) and the fact that Foye makes about $4 mil till 2012, while Ben Gordon will be owed $36 mil till 2014, there's no reason for the Clippers not to take Foye over Ben Gordon.

I love how fans of other teams just simply look at the box score. Go ahead and continue to do it though, look at the beginning of last season with the Pistons, and the beginning of the season before. This was without RIP, and he was putting up 25 ppg on 49% shooting. I understand, and appreciate the fact that BG is overpaid, but Randy Foye sucks. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

Ya know the funniest part about this... Have a look at Ben Gordon's 3rd season, in comparison to your boy Eric's.

More efficient scoring, less minutes played, and on a much better team than the current Clips. He's in a bad situation, don't make it out to be anything more than that.

Bingo.

BG got paid and has been terrible value since. Foye did a great job for us off the bench last season, and also stepped it up when he started while EG was out.

Why would the Clippers give up cap flexibility for the very near future, for a guy who plays the same role at 9x the cost?

Prince is a free-agent. We have no reason to trade Kaman for him. We can (likely) sign him outright.

Horrible trade for the pistons, Kaman's not going to be a game changer in Det. so why would we give up the 8th pick Kristen?

Sorry clips fans, and you would trade kaman out of goodness of your heart, we return the la boy back to la and you return the MSU kid to motown. WWJD

Kaman is worth more than just Rip and 8th pick, Also the Clips are good with young talent. I would decline this trade IMO.

Celtics fan but I think Ben Gordan would be nice as a pg next to Eric Gordan. Moving him to pg might make him a better defender. You'd have 2 big time scorers in the Gordans plus Blake making your team very hard to defend.

This would allow DeAndre to do what he does best and you could draft 1 of the many highly regarded sf with the Minni pick. While young you would have high quality talent at every spot in the starting line-up.

Come on man.

Kaman is 10x the game changer anyone at #8 will be. This roster desperately needs another big, and while it may not be him, he's much better than RIP and a late lotto pick in a shady draft.

Calling it 'horrible' just makes our fan base look like a bunch of morons.
