Wizards
Blake Griffin

Wow, that really blows :) I can see how it works from a fit perspective...

But I drafted Gay and Ibaka #31 and #43 overall. Now maybe a I reached for Ibaka, but still, it would mean me trading
#35 + #43

for

#45 + #80

I'm very much interested in getting in on a deal. But I'm not feeling this one at all.

Sorry, I thought you have me getting Marc Gasol. I get Pau?

That is more fair.

Am I missing something? Anyway, I'm still looking to deal Marc & Felton for something solid in return.

Does inserting Greg Monroe change anything? I mean, he was drafted in the 4th, but I think he is better than Ibaka.

Either way, I'm still brainstorming.

I guess the issue is that Ibaka was a reach (for a 21 year old player I want to build around) and Butler at #80 was a reach (for a 31 year old injured player.) If Ibaka lacks value to others I am more than happy to keep him on my team- but going from Gay to Butler is too big step down. Sure they are both getting over injury. But Gay is 6 years younger and a more dynamic player.

Gasol is better than Monroe and Ibaka/Gasol would work great together for year to come. But it's not enough from my perspective to make the move. I'd consider that type of a move if I was getting another quality young SF in returen (say Galinari), but not a 15/5 guy age 31 coming off of knee surgery. Don't mean to be harsh on Butler :)

I probably would not give you fair value for them, to be honest.

I'd be sending away Griffin, Pau, Butler, Kwame, and Tiago...for Melo, Monroe, and Mbah? No thanks.

I'll trade Griffin or Pau, but not both...unless I'm getting back something really good.

I don't think the Butler injury is that terrible. The guy is almost coming back for the Finals...he'll be a-okay next year.

Eh, still not a big fan of the trade. Not a turrible trade, but not something I'm going to jump for.

Gay + Monroe for Pau and Butler is interesting in that one team gets the youth and the other gets the talent.

In terms of current ability:

Pau > Gay > Butler > Monroe

But in 3 years Pau and Butler will be 34 and Gay and Monroe will be 28 and 24.

I'd be relatively interested...would you do that trade? Guessing you would since you *offered* (for the lack of a better word) it.

I would have to pass on this 1. I really dislike the thought of Nick Young & Amare playing together

You willing to trade Dirk? I honestly don't think your current team can compete and would like to offer you a youth and depth movement if interested.

Millsap+Prince+Shannon Brown+J Rich for Dirk+Watson+Nocioni(Nocioni doesn't have to be included if you don't want)

I'd be willing to sub in Andersen for one of these players also.

Dirk gives me an instant contender while Millsap is an up and coming player who has been steadily improving while being in a positional logjam for most of his career. Shannon Brown is a great athlete(highest current vert in the NBA I believe) who can be an instant offense option that can get hot from 3 and has shown very good potential but is stuck backing up Kobe instead of playing PG/SG for long minutes.

J Rich can be a good starter for you until Derozan shows he can be a full blown starter, or he can also be a backup to Derozan depending on how you want to build your team for the future and Prince provides you with a good upgrade at starter with defense and a solid 15 ppg player who can put up 18-22 every other night and can make Salmons a very good 6th man type SG/SF scorer instead of forcing him to start.
