Tickets aren't cheap. They look like they're some of the most expensive in the NHL.

Falcons is what I'm hearing too. If it was Phoenix moving back, the Jets name would be a no-brainer. But as much as I love the Jets history, it would be weird to start that name again with a different franchise. Though I do hope they go back to the colours/jerseys regardless of the name.

They have to go back with Jets. They'll piss off a lot of people if they don't.

Sure some people will be disappointed, but will they not go to the games because of it? No. Let's face it, the only way this works in Winnipeg the second time around is if they sell out almost every night and get quality sponsorship and sell a lot of merchandise. The best way to sell a lot of merchandise is by changing the team name and forcing everyone to buy new jerseys. It's a business afterall.

Ya they need to make a crap ton of money in the first couple years for this to work in the long term. They need cash to add seating to the MTS center.

I'd prefer the Jets, but I'm not sure if it would be a game-changer for most people.

Thinking about it, when pro-sports teams return to a city, they generally get new names. The Alouettes and the Senators (both of which returned from folded franchises, not moved ones) are the only two exceptions I can think of off the top of my head.

They can't add to the MTS Centre without tearing the roof off.

And if Winnipeg fans won't buy tickets for the team because they're not going back to the name Jets they don't deserve to have a team in the first place.

That's not going to be an issue, it just sucks that they're not going to be the Jets.

I think Jets is a pretty dumb name anyways so I'm glad they're changing it.

It really is/was a dumb name. But there's a ton of nostalgia behind that name, and thats why so many people wanted to bring it back.

Exactly. It's not that the name is amazing by any means, it's all of the Nostalgia behind it.

I new they were going to sell all the tickets they needed too, but I never thought they'd do it this fast. Amazing.
